The recruiting world has been heating up with players around the country.' Around our area of the country, talent has continued to run deep around the Carolinas. However, one thing that has been noticeable over the years in the past is that South Carolina hasn't had huge success with securing the talent around and getting them to stay home.'

But that could be changing and changing QUICKLY!

The Gamecocks have been in the news quite a bit as of late, as South Carolina has been doing a great job over the last two seasons in earning commitments from players right in their backyard.' You can look at the class of 2022 where they were able to not only secure two strong talents in 2022 Daniel Sanford who has been strong early on and 2022 Zachary Davis, but they were also able to secure a generational talent/program-changer in 2022 GG Jackson.' That alone is an impressive group of talent, all of which come from their own backyard.'One could even make the case that the Gamecocks were building this momentum back in the class of 2021 with Jacobi Wright and Ja’Von Benson.

But South Carolina hasn't stopped there, as they are looking to continue that trend in the class of 2023.  They have already done so with 2023 Collin Murray-Boyles who announced his commitment over the weekend and then added yet another in 2023 Arden Conyers, a rising talent in the state of South Carolina.  And they may not be done, as there are other prospects that South Carolina has on their radar from around the region.

One thing that can be said is that South Carolina is finding success in keeping strong talent from around the region to stay at home and play for the Gamecocks and fans of college basketball around the area should be taking notice.
