6'4 '18 Kanon Koster

6'4 210 lb. unsigned senior Kanon Koster is a two-sport star at Kearney High School in Kearney, Nebraska. Last year, he earned First Team All Nebraska after leading Kearney High School to 19 straight wins and the state tournament semifinals, in the large school classification.

Koster is a solid mid-major prospect and received interest and offers from various SoCon schools last summer. This season, Kannon is averaging 23 PPG, 7 RPG, and 2.4 APG. In the three years as a varsity starter, his career average is 19.3 PPG and Kearney High School has sported an impressive 51-18 record in that time span. At the current time, Kearney High School is 13-5 and ranked fifth in the state, playing against the largest schools in Omaha and Lincoln.

This fall Kanon was First'Team All Nebraska at quarterback for the state runner-up football team that went 12-1. He finished with more than 700 yards rushing as a senior. If you have an interest in seeing Kanon in a different athletic setting, here are his'senior season football highlights, and had interest from FCS football schools but he intends to play basketball.

You will notice a knee brace in some of the video clips. He had an MCL sprain in the middle of football and missed two games. He wore a brace for the final three football games and the first two weeks of basketball in early December but has had no issues.'

Kanon's high school coach is Drake Beranek, who started for Doc Sadler at Nebraska, and has been a college assistant at the NAIA level before taking over at Kearney High.

Last March, Kanon had one of the all-time best Class A state tournament performances when he scored 38 points in a 61-50 win over #4 Omaha Central with Isaiah Poor Bear Chandler (Wichita St). He scored 25 second-half points on 10/13 shooting. His 38 points were the 6th'most all-time in the Class A state tournament.'Here are his highlights from the state quarterfinals.

#2 ranked Kearney High lost 62-50 to #1 Papillion-LaVista (with Ed Chang) in the state semifinals. Kanon had 28 pts, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and was 11/19 from the field (2/4 from three).'Here are his highlights from the state semifinals.
