Player: Jackson Fannon
Class: 2025
School: East Lincoln
Another player who has been having a tremendous start to the season and who recently showed out again at the Phenom Freedom 828 Showcase was East Lincoln’s 2025 Jackson Fannon. He stepped up in a big win in Morganton (NC) this past weekend against Kings Mountain, scoring 19 points to help lead his team. But on the season, Fannon is averaging 24.6 points, 1.8 assists, and 6.8 rebounds per game to lead his team.
Fannon has been consistent early on this season but also throughout the summer, as he continues to showcase his ability to be a tough matchup at his size. He is a 6’7 fluid prospect who thrives in being a scoring option on the floor and does so from multiple levels; he can operate from the perimeter, looks to get to his spots, and rises with confidence in his shot from three and mid-range game. Fannon is incredibly effective in catch-and-shoot situations but also can mix it up in a variety of ways. But the one thing he has shown is that he can be a strong scoring option on the court and create a tough matchup for opponents.
He should be one that should get more attention with his game, as he could be a valuable piece for a future program. And he showed that this past weekend.
What Has Been Said:
“Going forward, there should be a lot of optimism about Fannon and his overall growth as a prospect. Not only has he made visible strides over the last calendar year, it feels like the 6-foot-7 forward is still only beginning to scratch the surface of his long-term abilities. He’s already a knockdown shooter with size, length, and mobility, but he has plenty of tools remaining. Fannon knows how to get to his spots and consistently hit jumpers off the catch or dribble. However, he’s arguably at his best when establishing his interior presence and then utilizing his perimeter shooting to cause matchup problems. Fannon capable defender with the strength and instincts to continue developing in that area over the coming years. He’s a solid two-way rebounder with a willingness to make hustle plays and step up in big moments. Fannon will be one to watch progress over the coming years.”
