At the Phenom Prep Showcase, there were quite a few familiar faces at the event but there was a new one to check out for our staff at Phenom Hoops. Acker Academy out of South Carolina, made its way up to Bermuda Run to compete in the Prep Showcase, and they were able to introduce us to a few new names and what their program is all about.

Overall as a team, this was a team that immediately came out and competed, having a narrow loss to one of the top teams in Combine Post Grad before earning a strong win against Bull City Prep Post Grad the following day. When watching this group, one of the first things that we noticed was how unselfish this team was, how they shared the ball, and how they had several players that could step up and make plays; it was a very balanced team that played as a group.

Each and every game, you could see a new high-scorer leading the charge, but you would certainly have several players in the scoring column. Players like Aaron Weldeslassie, Demyron Williams, Dalon Edwards, Khalil Peoples, Langston Terry, Malachi Haythrone, Chris Abercrombie, and so many others bring a team-first mentality to the court. Each player understands their role, but with this group, one can really mix it up in how they attack.

There are still a few under-the-radar type players to look at for this program, but they certainly put themselves on the map with Phenom Hoops and certainly will be a program to look at more down the road with the talent they have.
