Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day. It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.
Here is the latest commitment.
Player: Isaiah Otyaluk
Class: 2024
Committed to: Chattanooga
What He Brings:
Otyaluk is an intriguing prospect who grabbed our attention when he first arrived, and he has only continued do show flashes of what he could ultimately be. When you look at his game, he is a long and athletic prospect who does a nice job in displaying the ability to not only score from the perimeter but to put on a show with his athleticism and finishing at the rim. He gets to his spots well from behind the arc but has continued to add more to his game to make him a more balanced prospect, as well as getting stronger. But there is still a lot of upside left in his game, which is why so many schools were looking his way with intrigue. Chattanooga was able to win the battle, and he should be a strong piece for the future of the program.
What He Said:
Phenom: What made Chattanooga the place for you in the end'
Otyaluk: Just a list of things. Good playing time as a freshman, great team and coaching staff, great academics, love the location and campus, and they are going to help me reach my main goal which is making it to the league. They also play in a good conference.
Phenom: What did you do on the visit and see when there' How did you inform them as well of your commitment'
Otyaluk: I shot around with the team, explored the campus, went out to eat, explored the area, and went to a football game. I informed them on the phone.
Phenom: What are you hoping to bring to the program'
Otyaluk: What I’m hoping to bring to the program is my shooting ability, my ball-handling and guard skills that I am getting better with but continuing to improve on as well, and I want to get them to the NCAA Tournament and put them on the map.
Phenom: What are you hoping to focus on with your game'
Otyaluk: Before heading off, I want to focus on my ball-handling and shooting off the dribble. I want to make that more consistent.
