Charlotte Country Day came into the season with a few question marks but we were eager to see what kind of team they would bring to the table this year. Though they weren’t able to walk out with a victory at the Phenom Tip-Off, we did see two strong seniors step up in big moments and they will be counted on even more down the road. 2025 6’4 Jerome Lowery and 2025 6’2 Nick Diaz both had strong moments over the weekend, as we look to highlight a bit more about each of their games and what we saw.
2025 6’4 Jerome Lowery
Lowery will be a key piece to the team this year; he will be counted on being a versatile piece and making an impact in a variety of areas for his team, but he will also need to help lead the team offensively. Lowery flourished with his versatility, as he brings a strong frame, scores well and brings a physical presence, does a nice job in creating off the bounce, attacking the glass, and showing he can play multiple positions on the floor for his team. On Day 1, he showed his full impact, finishing with 7 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals vs. Ambassador Christian.
What Was Said:
“’25 Jerome Lowery (Charlotte Country Day) clearly sets the tone as a leader for this team. Tough, physical, and constantly involved on both ends of the floor. Offers a strong, intense defensive presence and well-rounded offensive arsenal. College-worthy prospect.”
2025 6’2 Nick Diaz
Diaz is another player who may have had his best showing that we have watched him, as he finished with 22 points vs. Gaston Christian and elevated his game to another level. Diaz was assertive in showing his ability to create and get downhill, attacking the defense, embracing contact, and also taking advantage of scoring opportunities from the perimeter. He was extremely aggressive throughout, something that we could continue to see more this season with his game. Though he was aggressive with his game on Day 2, Diaz has shown that he is ready to knock down shots, makes unselfish plays, and brings a versatile offensive game.
What Was Said:
“2025 Nick Diaz has showcased impressive aggressiveness, consistently attacking gaps and driving to the basket in transition. He’s been shot-ready off the ball and has done a great job finding open teammates off the bounce, adding versatility to his offensive game.”
