The state of North Carolina is incredibly fortunate to have such an overabundance of talent within the basketball scene. Whether teams or individual players, there’s seemingly always someone to know in every pocket of the Hoopstate. Although they aren’t necessarily tucked away, North Lincoln is a team worthy of attention from the masses. The Knights have seen some ups and downs this season, but have seemingly turned things around after a shaky start to the year—winning four of their last five before entering a critical stretch of their schedule. Regardless, they’ve found success behind their highly productive senior duo of Kellen Karr and Ty Sanders.
In looking at Sanders, there’s plenty for college coaches to like. Although he’s commonly known for his shooting ability, he’s certainly shown the ability to expand his production with this group. Sanders is a solid athlete with size, creation skills, and the ability to impact the game in several different ways. As mentioned, he’s comfortable as a spot-up threat who can cut without the ball and hit shots off movement. This season, Sanders is averaging 17.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 3.4 APG, and 1.1 SPG. He would be a meaningful addition for various next-level programs.
Meanwhile, Karr is posting video game-like numbers on a nightly basis. He’s somewhat of a matchup problem for opponents as a versatile 6-foot-6 player who can do legitimately everything on the court. Karr basically operates as a point guard whose blend of IQ, size, vision, and scoring polish makes him a walking mismatch. Currently, he’s averaging 16.1 PPG, 14.6 RPG, 6.8 APG, 3.3 SPG, and 0.7 BPG. Per MaxPreps, Karr ranks fifth in rebounds and twelfth in assists across North Carolina. Although he’s going to Coastal Carolina for baseball, it’s impossible to ignore everything he’s doing on the basketball court.
