The Phenom Hoops Summer Havoc has come and gone, as college coaches were able to get a glimpse of the future for their programs.  Many players showcased their talents on the court and earned great exposure, especially after this past year in which there were limited opportunities.

Several players though made a case in why college coaches should be looking more their way, as they may have been flying a little too much under the radar. One of those players that I constantly heard and was impressed with was 2022 Marcus Willis.

Yes, some will look at his 5'10 frame but I've said it before and will say it again… sometimes you just have to look past certain factors and see that a player can simply play and produce on the court.  Willis did that consistently all throughout the weekend.

When you watch his game, there might have not been a quicker guard on the floor as I didn't see too many defenders showing that they could stay in front of him.  Willis displayed a tremendous ability in operating in the halfcourt, using his speed to get by defenders and create for himself, or push the pace in transition and aggressive attack or facilitate.

As our own Tyler Lewis said:

'Really enjoy the passion and energy Marcus Willis plays with. Such a quick, scrappy guard. Defends at a high level. He is a paint-touch guard.'

He certainly was, filling up the stat sheet, scoring the ball effectively within the offense, using his tremendous speed and quickness to get inside the arc, while also being an absolute pest on defense, and setting up his teammates in terrific situations.

Willis proved on the court that he can contribute and help a program at the next level, which is why more schools should be looking his way.  He is one that fuels the Charlotte Royals program and is a leader on the floor.
