Even in a weird year, Phenom Hoops had several chances to check out rising talent from around the state and how they have continued to develop their game.  One prospect of strong interest was 2022 6’6 Noah Ross from Trinity Academy.

Last season, Ross averaged 16.5 points per game and really showed his ability to be a knockdown shooter.  But his recruitment had only just begun, earning an offer from EKU.  But this summer, one can see that Ross was looking to show that he can be much more than that, catching the eyes of many of our scouts.

It seemed off why more schools weren’t getting involved this summer early on but they eventually caught on, as schools started to send offers his way. We spoke recently with Ross about the latest and how he has been handling the recent success. He also gives us a list of schools that could be next in offering him.

PHR: How did this summer go for you overall' In your thoughts, what were you ablet o show and what was your mindset with this crazy summer'

Ross: I thought this summer went well.  It was a lot of fun to play with a lot of talented guys on Tea Marie and I definitely learned a lot from it.  I was able to show that I’m more than just a catch and shoot guy and I was able to work off all the talent.  We had to do the little things like rebound, contest shots, etc.  My mindset never changed; I knew that if I just kept working my time would eventually come.

PHR: How do you think you have developed your game overall'

Ross: I think that I’ve developed into a threat to score on all three levels, my athleticism has improved which has led to big strides defensively as well.

PHR: Well, your recruitment has picked up.  What all offers do you hold and what have they been saying they like about your game'

Ross: I currently have offers from Eastern Kentucky, Hofstra, FIU, Elon, Rice, and Charlotte.  They like my ability to shoot and stretch the floor at my height.  I look forward to getting down to campus at all of those schools when the dead period is lifted.

PHR: Have any of them been really pushing or making a strong relationship with you as of right now'

Ross: I’ve been in contact with all of them frequently and I’ve really enjoyed talking to all the coaches and getting to relationships with them.  As of right now, I’d say they are all pushing me the same.

PHR: Who else has been reaching out expressing interest your way'

Ross: Seton Hall, Liberty, Holy Cross, Appalachian State, Air Force, Belmont, Davidson, MTSU, Virginia Tech, UNCW, Houston, Tulsa, LSU, ETSU, Ohio, UNCG, Lehigh, Winthrop, Cal State Fullerton, and Xavier.  Liberty, Belmont, UNCG, Tulsa, UNCW, Appalachian State, Ohio, and Xavier are in contact with me a lot.

PHR: Has you been able to soak it all in with the latest up-tick in your recruitment'

Ross: It’s definitely been fun and humbling to see all of these coaches want me in their program.  I’ve really enjoyed the process so far.
