The South Carolina Top 80 really opened some eyes with the talent that was on the court.  There were several new names that jumped out on the court with their play and evaluations will be coming out shortly, but we wanted to continue our coverage of the event as we look at a few players that impressed.

One of the smaller guards on the floor, 2023 Amari Richardson was incredibly strong throughout the South Carolina Top 80, averaging 17.3 points per game at the event. He has shown that he can really score the ball well and effectively, as the smooth guard knocked down shots consistently all throughout the event on multiple levels. Richardson plays extremely hard and really mixes up his offensive game, creating off the dribble and getting to the basket, but also showing his range, knocking down multiple threes.

Pendleton had some ups and downs last season but Richardson should help provide more offense.  Coming from Indiana (He played at Terre Haute South last year), he now looks to make an impression in SC and certainly impressed with his game in Florence over the weekend. Richardson will be one to watch this upcoming season.

Phenom: What is your excitement about playing at Pendleton this upcoming season'
Richardson: The team is full of coll guys, which will make the season better. I’m excited to play with my new team.
