Bishop McGuinness looked strong once again

Bishop McGuinness would be a team to watch more of this season, as they sit undefeated on the season and bring an experienced group to the court again. The continue their winnings ways to start the season, as this veteran squad was able to mix it up well and showcase their experience on the court against Salisbury. The Graves’ brothers continue to produce and lead, but they have plenty of other seniors that help bring a very balanced attack with 2025 Alex Waterfield, 2025 Aiden Martin, and others along with other key veterans. They showcased how tough they will be this season.

NC GBB battles and fights for a tough win

Credit to this team, as they were coming off a tough battle on Day 1 and they were hoping to battle again on Day 2. They found themselves down once again in this one against Catholic (VA), but they never gave up. 2025 KJ Burke and 2025 Devin Sims did all they could do to get their team back in, along with several other players stepping up in key situations, as NC GBB clawed its way back and was able to make one final defensive stop to secure the win.

Duo leads once again for Calvary Day

Get use to hearing these two names for Calvary Day: 2026 Dane Cassada and 2026 Owen Calvert. They make up an underrated duo here in the state of North Carolina and they should continue to lead the charge for Calvary Day much like they did on Day 2. Casda had it going from deep but also showed just how physical he can be as a creator. Calvery is just a tough, scrappy guard that finds ways to get buckets. Certainly a fun duo to watch on the court this season.

Word of God’s Jaevian Alston proves to be an underrated prospect, leads WOG to win

We were excited to see what Word of God was going to bring to the table and they didn’t disappoint. THey have tough guards that can score and knock down shots, they have size and strength down low with Marcus Jackson and company, and they also have versatility. 2025 Jaevian Alston really impressed with his game, scoring inside and out, rebounding well, defending and playing multiple positions, and just finding ways to be effective as he finished with 24 points to lead the charge.

Concord Academy continuing its strong start to the season

Man, is this team battle-tested and they keep on finding ways to win to stay undefeated on the season. This is looking like it could be a special season with this veteran group, as they have won games in several ways. They are tough, gritty, and just find ways to win as Jake Benham stepped up with the game-winner on Day 2 vs. FCDS. But overall, this team has talent, leadership, toughness, and is just finding ways to win as well as win in impressive fashion. Let’s not overlook what this group and coaching staff has accomplished early on.
