Greetings HS hoops junkies from across the college hoops watching Piedmont! The Great One is here to release his latest Furious 5 rankings. Last week saw several upsets that produced major changes in the 5. There is also a new member on the DSO list as Lake Norman clinched their regular season conference title by taking out Hickory Ridge and Cox Mill. Mallard Creek also bounced East Meck from the DSO list and Chambers vaulted back into the 5 by spoiling North Meck’s senior night. Big games await this week in all conferences so let’s get to the 5!!!
1. MYERS PARK – The Pony Express should clinch at least a tie for their conference regular season title on Tuesday but must defeat the Men of Troy at Olympic on Friday.
2. CHARLOTTE CATHOLIC – Charlotte Catholic won a big one at Butler, but must win at revenge-minded East Meck on Tuesday for their regular season title.'
3. OLYMPIC – The Trojans had an easy week but a huge week awaits as they visit rival Ardrey Kell and host Myers Park on Friday.
4. CHAMBERS – The Cougars stunned North Meck and an easy upcoming week should produce at least a tie for the QC regular season title.
5. NORTH MECK – The Vikings tumble to #5 after dropping their senior game to Chambers. They’ll finish up the regular season slate this week with the Beatties Ford Road swing.
