Greetings HS hoops junkies from across the rainy and cold Piedmont! We are here again to review The Great One’s latest Furious 5 rankings. Most school systems were in exams this week so most games were on Friday night and only a few were played in the area on Tuesday night. There weren’t many games of any consequence so the rankings weren’t affected. The NFL playoffs are in full swing now so let’s get straight to the 5!
1. NORTH MECK – The Vikings rolled over a revamped Hough squad who will be a tough out in March. Travels to The Creek and to play Milton, GA on Saturday.
2. MYERS PARK – The Stangs had a breather against Berry and go for the season sweep at The Kastle of Ardrey Kell on Tuesday.
3. BUTLER – Rolled over Garinger. The Dogs have a classic “look ahead” game at Providence on Tuesday en route to a huge revenge game as they host East Meck on Friday.
4. CHARLOTTE CATHOLIC – The Cougars topped an improving Providence team last Friday. Could the Patriots be planning an ambush this week'
5. OLYMPIC – The Trojans had a hangover after the Myers Park game and almost lost against Harding. They should get back on track against new rival Palisades on Friday.
