The Phenom Middle School Elite Camp was an incredible overall event and a chance for us at Phenom Hoops to get a glimpse of the future here around the region. We want to continue to excitement and coverage, as we will be highlighting several players along with all evaluations being posted here on the Phenom Hoops website.

A new name that really attracted the eyes of many at the camp, 2029 6’2 Gradyn West will be a player to track and keep an eye on more.  There was a lot to like about his game and how he operated on the court. Standing already at 6’2, West was one that really flourished in a variety of areas and showed a polished game at a young age. He was capable of creating and knocking down shots with a ton of confidence from a variety of levels. But he also displayed IQ, feel, positional size, and playmaking ability that allowed him to flourish in an array of areas. Scored the ball effective inside and out, created well for himself, was able to rebound at a high level, and he created issues on the defensive end with his size at his position.  West has the tools to be a name in the Class of 2029 down the road as he continues to develop, but he checks off a lot of early boxes as a prospect.

What Was Said:

“6’2 ‘29 Gradyn West (Thales Academy) has the makings of a notable prospect. Possesses an incredibly smooth, polished skillset with an appealing blend of IQ, size, and craftiness. Showcasing the full arsenal while rebounding and defending at a high level.”
