2024 Izzah Cannon (Olympus Prep)
Go ahead and start tracking him because Izzah is a star in the making. Standing at 6’4 with a good frame, he helps lead a talented and well-balanced attack. The most gifted all around scorer and primary shooting threat, Izzah makes the game look effortless at times with how quickly he was able to react and make plays. Needless to say, he takes whatever he wants offensively and given so much more time to grow it’s scary to think about where he’ll be come senior year.
2023 Babacar Mbengue (Olympus Prep)
The phrase sky is the limit couldn’t be more true when you look at the potential in the 7’0 prospect. Length is insane, he’s already developed a stout muscular frame and he literally looks to dunk everything. The paint is a no fly zone with him protecting it and he’s only get better as he gets stronger and quicker. Holds a couple D1 offers currently, but look for the stock to keep rising as his raw untapped skillset peaks
2022 Mahmoud Bangura (Va Post Grad)
Mahmoud fueled the offense in the second half, making play after play. His length and athleticism gives him the versatility to play inside and out, he showed a lot of comfort with both. Showed a lot of patience in making his many moves to the basket, but it all started with his basic fundamentals of fakes and footwork. He understands how to attack and finish, showcasing a nice float game that used the high percentage bank off the glass.
2022 Alex Doyle (DME)
When you look at what coaches want in a modern day big, Alex fits the picture perfectly. He’s long with the ability to stretch the floor and has a natural feel for the game. In today’s win over Va PG, he showcased his skill set down low with post moves as well as his smooth shooting stroke. They were actually running sets to get him outside shots and he hit multiple threes. Lots of upside here for the next level.
2022 Jevin Muniz (Believe Prep)
Without a doubt the best playmaker for Believe Prep (on a team full of them), Jevin is a swiss army knife for this crew. He’s got the build and strength to work the post while also showing great comfort handling the ball and making plays for himself and others. I really liked how he went up strong off two feet with two hands, maximizes his athleticism and frame. And on to possibly his best quality, he was an exceptional passer with great court vision and awareness to give others easy looks.
2022 Tyree Green (Believe Prep)
Whether it shows in the scorebook or not, Tyree impacts the game in a big way that all successful teams need. He’s a reliable defender and rebounder that follows the team system working the offense and getting good looks for the team. Plays tough and unselfish, but when opportunities present themselves he takes advantage and gets his points too. Never forces things and is an all around team player
2022 Immanuel Oludele (Ridley)
One of the most intriguing prospects on the day, and mainly because of his physique and position. Immanuel is 6’7 with a solid frame and build running the point. He’s a versatile weapon especially defensively where he can switch and rebound against anyone. Offensively he has a good handle with the ability to clear space but also has a true form shot. He hit 4 threes, each with good rotation and high arc
2022 Kevin Sandman (Feltrim)
There’s always something special you have to bring when you’re the smallest guy on the court, and Kevin brought it. Played with real toughness and poise, handling the pressure from bigger and quicker guys. He controlled the pace and stayed under control getting to the basket and finishing amongst the trees, utilizes good change of speed and direction.
