2026 Donyeh Baird (Team Loyal)
There are several guys in the 2026 class I’m finding to be seamlessly positionless and Donyeh is one of them. Even while being the biggest guy on the team, he carries a heavy percentage of their ball-handling duties being able to initiate things from the perimeter and operate as a truly big guard that makes mismatches. He’s consistently been at the front line of their offense this season, and has delivered in big-time matchups where his team with Coach Dre has proven to compete with anyone.
2023 Micah Hudnall (Winston 76ers)
Given the new coaching hire at West Forsyth, Micah will be playing a crucial role in leading from the point to make the transition as smooth as possible. He’s a smart well-rounded point guard that can handle the pressure and burden of doing the primary decision-making. He can get his to lead the offense but also is adaptable in finding others off drives and capable to knock down outside shots. He seems to always be around the ball and constantly have his hands involved in good things.
2025 Martin Giant (Basketpoint)
Coming off a strong summer with a young and emerging SW Guilford group, Martin seems to really have taken the strides to elevate his game. He’s still tenacious on defense, fully utilizing his long frame and natural athleticism to pester ball handlers, but looks much more poised and locked in to making things happen offensively. There’s not much he can’t do, as he has the ultimate confidence with a dog’s mentality to not be denied, he’s a tough finisher, smooth ball handler, and all around a scrappy leader that sets the tone with his backcourt trio partners Kenny Miller and Byron Coleman.
2026 Will Stevens (Carolina Riptide)
Considering the loss of Trent Steinhour to the older squad, Will is a perfect addition to naturally fill in and the team not miss a beat. He kept his activity around the rim up, reaching and walling up to impact shots while carrying a calm mannered approach on offense that shows all-around genuine comfort as a really long two-way guy. He’s a reliable finisher, capable ball handler when needed, and confident shooter to spot up and get his up quickly under pressure. There’s a lot to like right now and even more to look forward to.
