Head coach Chris Beard and Texas Tech secured their first 2020 commitment on Monday, as 6'7 Chibuzo Agbo announced that he would be joining the Red Raiders upcoming class.

Just six days before, Agbo announced that he had narrowed his list to Arizona, Marquette, San Diego State, Texas Tech, and USC. In the end, it was the Red Raiders' work ethic and potential development that helped seal the deal.

'I loved it because of the work everybody puts in,' Agbo told Phenom Hoop Report. 'From the coaches to the players to assistants, they are always working to figure out how to help the team get better and I loved it. I feel like the development is going to be key for me and I feel like there is no better place than Texas Tech. I also feel like Coach Beard is a great guy who will push me and have my best interests at heart.'

Agbo is hoping to bring versatility on both sides of the floor with his size, length, and ability.

'Shooting the open three well and being able to apply some offensive pressure and help be solid on defense,' he said in what he is hoping to provide to the program. 'I just want to be an all-around guy. Shoot the open shots, attack, rebound, defend, and hustle plays.'
