Back down in Texas, Phenom Hoops recently caught up with an intriguing 2023 prospect in 6’4 Finley Bizjack from Byron Nelson High School. Bizjack is coming off a strong ’21-’22 season in which he averaged 25 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game, helping the Bobcats to a 24-10 overall record. Now, he has joined up with Southern Assault and is enjoying his time with his coaches and teammates.
Bizjack has been a target for many schools, holding multiple offers and recently adding a few new ones from North Texas, UNLV, and Richmond. We spoke to him about everything going on, including his newest offers, which schools have been staying strong, and his upcoming visit to Butler.

Phenom: How has everything been going with Southern Assault and with basketball in general'
Bizjack: It is going great! My high school is a Texas 6A school, but it still doesn’t compare to the Adidas Circuit. I love all my Southern Assault coaches and teammates, all of us put basketball as our priority. I have Oklahoma team camp with my high school team coming up as well.
Phenom: How would you best describe your game and how you like to operate'
Bizjack: I would like to think of myself as a scoring facilitator who is more than capable of handling a defensive assignment. I’m big on just playing hard and trusting what I know will work because I’ve put in the time.
Phenom: Recruitment, how has that been overall for you, and what is new your way'
Bizjack: A lot more of the real stuff like schools that want you to commit there and really go to their school vs. schools who talked to you on the phone a couple of times; it is cool.
Phenom: What are your initial thoughts on the latest offer from North Texas'
Bizjack: I think it is a cool hometown team and it is really cool to have that option to stay close to home. And Coach McCasland is a great coach and I have a friend there, Chris Morgan, who I’m really close to.
Phenom: You added offers from UNLV and Richmond recently as well. Thoughts on each' And what did you like about your visit to Richmond'
Bizjack: It is super exciting to get those offers because you never know who might be watching, so it makes me feel like I’m doing some things right in my games. And my visit to Richmond was awesome. Coach Money and his whole staff are all great people and I’m really lucky to be recruited by them.
Phenom: What other offers do you hold, and would you say any of them have been standing out or making you a strong priority right now'
Bizjack: I wouldn’t say one individual is standing out and SMU offers recently with their new staff. And all of the schools that have offered me right now have been making strong campaigns and pushed for the most part.
Phenom: What other schools have been showing interest your way'
Bizjack: Utah, Butler, Clemson, Loyola-Chicago, Iowa, and Iowa State.
Phenom: Would you say any of those interest have been stronger than others'
Bizjack: It is hard to say. Everyone has a different style of recruiting. There are certain schools that I know really want me but don’t call every day, while there are other schools that call every day that might not even have a spot open. I’d say the schools I listed above are the ones that are showing the strongest interest. There are a lot of other schools that are calling me often, but those schools are showing the strongest. Well, SMU, Georgia Tech, St. Louis, and Ole Miss as well. I’ve also been speaking with Texas.
Phenom: You have made some past visits correct'
Bizjack: Yes sir. I’ve been to SMU, TCU, St. Louis, Richmond, and George Washington. Next week, I’m at Butler.
Phenom: Any visits really stand out to you'
Bizjack: Richmond was special. I expect Butler to be awesome.
