Recruitment Update:

One player that really could be on the verge of seeing a big uptick in his recruitment is 2022 Freddie Dilione from Trinity Christian.  He has been regarded as one of the top players in the state of North Carolina but it seemed odd that schools were coming his way with an offer.  That eventually changed though, as he earned his first offer from Eastern Kentucky and then FIU.  After that, he received offers from Penn State, Houston, North Carolina A&T, and Xavier

It certainly was an exciting time when he earned his first Power-5 offer from Penn State.

“Oh, that was a great offer,” he told Phenom Hoops when asked about his thoughts on the offer from the Nittany Lions.  “They are in the Big 10, so a lot of exposure out there but they just talk about how they love my size and feel for the game and how I can score the ball at any given moment. It was great; I was hype!”

He also earned an offer from Houston, a Top-25 program that has targeted several players in North Carolina in the past.

“That was a big one as well, I think they are ranked in the Top 10 right now.  I was very excited when I got that one, they are such a good team with a very smart coach.  They want me to score the ball and rebound every possession.”

The latest offer though came from Xavier, a program that has been showing interest his way for some time now.  But now, they pulled the trigger and now gives Dilione yet another offer.

“My thought was like, dang, I just was offered by Xavier, a big-time school.  They were talking very highly of me and I just had to thank God for blessing me once again.”

With four offers on the table now, Dilione also mentioned that schools like Tulsa, NC State, and Providence have all expressed interest as well; they could be the next to enter in his recruitment.
