Phenom Hoops recently wrote an article about 2021 KJ Garrett from High Point Christian Academy, as he has really shown his leadership on the court.  You can find it here (Click Here).  Garrett though is also a player that has been receiving some new interests from schools.  Right now, he does hold a few offers and they think he could fit nicely in their program but other schools are coming along.

We caught up with the 2021 point guard to check in on the latest with his recruitment, what he is looking for in a school at the next level, and his goals for this season.

PHR: How has everything been going with your recruitment these days'

Garrett: Really just starting to catch eyes honestly.  Schools like Longwood, Boise State, St. Mary’s, and then the schools that have been talking to me the most are Columbia, Army, Lander, UNCP, Roanoke, and Lynchburg.

PHR: What have schools like Columbia, Army, Lynchburg, and others been saying to you'

Garrett: How well I fit in their system.  Roanoke and Lynchburg have offered me.

PHR: How do you think you could fir in with their system'

Garrett: Getting downhill and how well I’m able to display leadership, make my teammates better, but also score when I want.

PHR: Have you been able to see more of those schools by any means'

Garrett: I’ve visited Lynchburg and Roanoke; they are both beautiful campuses.

PHR: How strong has the other schools like Columbia and all have been with you'

Garrett: Army and Columbia say they are exactly what they look for in a point guard, just need to watch a couple more games.

PHR: What did Boise State and St. Mary’s have to say your way'

Garrett: Just how they have noticed how I’ve been playing well and I’m on their radar.

PHR: What are some things you are looking for in a program in general'

Garrett: Just a family like feel, distance really doesn’t matter.  A program that really cares about his guys.

PHR: When are you looking to make your final decision as far as your recruitment goes'

Garrett: A couple of weeks after the end of the season.

PHR: What has been your outlook on this season so far for you'  What are you hoping to show with your game'

Garrett: My improved confidence, jump shot, and rebounding.

PHR: What are some of your goals for this season you have set for yourself or for your team'

Garrett: State championship! That is the biggest goal of the season and what we have our eyes on.
