A name on the rise in North Carolina has been 2021 6'5 Jayden Doyle at Freedom Christian, as the junior prospect recently earned his first offer from Howard and it appears several others have expressed interest as well.

Overall though, Doyle says this season has been a good learning experience for him and also an opportunity for him to showcase his skills, especially since making the move to North Carolina.  Doyle has been able to show that he can score and create on offense, but also guard multiple positions on the court.

That is probably what excited Howard as well and inclined them to offer Doyle.  Now, he has been able to start developing a solid relationship with the coaching staff.

'I like them and what Coach Blakeney is trying to build there in the coming years,' he told Phenom Hoops.  'We have a pretty good relationship and they make me feel like family.'

But as we mentioned above, Howard isn't the only school on the trail for Doyle, as several other schools have expressed interest and he has already made a few visits to programs as well.

Schools like Presbyterian, Virginia Tech, wake Forest, Utah Valley, Miami of Ohio, UNCG, Western Carolina, Holy Cross, UNC Asheville, Furman, ETSU and Charlotte have all showing interest.' Asheville, Western Carolina, Presbyterian, and Holy Cross have been the programs expressing strongest interest as right now and a few have already received visits from Doyle as well.

'UNC-Asheville was really cool, they have some nice facilities and the atmosphere and fans are great, as well as the staff.  You can really tell they care about each and every player on the team. Presbyterian, I visited back before the season started.  I didn't get a chance to see a game but I watched practice and toured campus.  I really like what Coach Quinton Ferrell and his staff are bringing to Presbyterian their first year.

I visited UNCG when they played NC State and really liked the environment and everything about the coliseum.  Furman has been trying to get me down to visit and I was going to go on one to Virginia Tech but we are rescheduling.'

There also have been discussions on his thoughts of reclassifying into the class of 2020 but Doyle told Phenom Hoops that he feels he should stay in the class of 2021; that it would be best for his game.

'No, I'm not coming out in 2020,' he reported to Phenom Hoops.  'I feel like reclassifying and being in 2021 has made me a lot stronger physically and as a player.  Adding another year will be good for me also and I'll be ready to make more of an impact at whatever university I end up at as a freshman.'
