Phenom Hoops kicked off the season in a big way with the Carmel Christian Tip-Off Classic, bringing in some of the premier talent and teams from around the region under one building in Charlotte.'

First up, we had Liberty Heights National vs. Bull City Prep National taking the court.  Both teams wanted to get out and run when they could but Bull City's zone defense slowed down the game early on.  Liberty Heights started to find their rhythm early though behind the outside shooting of Ryan Prather and company, helping Liberty earn the 19-8 lead at the first quarter.

Second quarter, it was a game of trading baskets early on but we had our first double-digit lead at the five-minute mark by Liberty Heights. They continued to attack and score with a balanced offense, as Ezra Ausar and others started to get in on the action while also getting after it defensively.  It helped Liberty earn the 35-18 halftime lead.  Cedric Patterson led the charge at halftime for Bull City National with six points.

Throughout the third quarter, it was Liberty Heights continuing to run their effective offense, knocking down shots and finishing strong around the basket.  You add that to their defensive impact, speeding up Bull City and creating turnovers, Liberty quickly expanded their lead even more by the end of the third quarter, 63-34. From then on, it remained around a 30-point margin throughout the fourth, with Liberty Heights taking home the 79-53 victory.
