Although Bart Lundy and staff receive a lot of credit for being able to recruit their region like a Division I program, they continue to impress with moves like securing Quan McCluney on the transfer market from College of Charleston. It's been a few years removed from watching during his high school playing days, but McCluney is still someone who could immediately come in and become a focal point. After receiving limited playing time over the last season for College of Charleston, it became clear that his talents could be better utilized somewhere else. It probably didn't hurt their recruiting pitch that Queens is about three hours closer to home than C of C.

Regardless, McCluney joins a strong incoming class of Erik Pratt, Kalib Matthews, Stephen Minor, and Traymond Willis-Shaw. It'll be exciting to see how he meshes with the current roster, given his ability to do a quality amount of everything. McCluney is a great creator that can initiate offense or effectively run a team while picking his spots within the flow of the team. He sees the floor well, makes intelligent decisions with the ball in his hands, and understands how to properly contain his assignment on both ends of the floor. McCluney's long, fairly athletic physical profile allows him to cause mismatches and overwhelm various types of opponents. He's simply a well-rounded player with very few weaknesses, which allows him to seamlessly carve out a productive role with basically any collection of teammates.

It's abundantly clear that McCluney will be an asset for Queens. He has continued to add to his overall skillset and could emerge as a major cog within their machine. Only time will tell, but Queens certainly appears to have struck gold yet again.
