It was Championship Sunday and that only means that teams were going to go home with some hardware. It had been a tremendous event and the players and coaches really came out to compete, but only a few teams could go home with a trophy.
Heading down into the 17u White Division, both the Carolina Gaters and Garner Road 17u Graves had a fantastic weekend. Both were racking up the wins and playing at a high level, but only one could go home with a trophy. Garner Road Graves looked to make a statement and that they did, going up by double-digits in the first half led by Nik Graves. Gaters struggled to find their offense but they continued to battle in the second half, as Julius Harrison and Nolan Hodge played hard. But there was just too much talent for Garner, as they cruised to a 63-43 win.
