The talent was big-time this past weekend at the Tyler Lewis Hoopfest, as plenty of prospects earned the attention of our scouts and should now be deserving more attention from college programs as well. We dive into a few names that D1 programs should really be looking at more, as we think they are college-worthy prospects at that level.
2026 Q Williams (Forsyth Country Day)
William has clearly put this team on his back in leading the charge, which was on full display this past weekend. Williams though fully embraced that role and flourished not only as a playmaker but also as a true scoring factor on the court. Williams elevated his play even more, making everyone better around him, and showing that he can produce in a variety of ways. He was terrific in creating space and opportunities for himself scoring-wise, penetrating the defense and finishing but also knocking down shots on all levels. He is a tough, competitive point guard who simply gets the job done.
2028 Kelvin Anderson (Catholic)
Though he is still young and there is still development left in his game that is needed, Anderson is one that I believe D1 schools should be looking at and monitoring when it comes to progress. He holds early offers already but watching him this season, this is a young point guard that checks off a lot of boxes. At 6’2, he has a terrific blend of athleticism, playmaking, quickness, and size that allow him to be such a strong playmaker. He will still have to work on some areas of his game but again, we are talking about a freshman producing early on. Don’t wait too long for him.
2026 Dane Cassada (Calvary Day)
Cassada’s game may not always be flashy but several players simply bring production at the next level and that is what you get with his game. What you have to like about his game is that Cassada has shown he can produce in a variety of ways, depending on what the defense is giving him. He can be physical and creative, showing a high IQ and feel in scoring and making plays for others but also shows that he is comfortable hurting you from the outside as well, much like he did at the event this past weekend.
2026 Toot Clay (HP Christian)
Clay is an interesting prospect who could be a sneaky snag for a program, so I’m eager to see how he continues to develop and what he can show this season. He possesses a college-ready body that would certainly translate to the next level, but he also brings tremendous athleticism and the ability to create. Clay can play, operate, and defend multiple positions that allow him to be effective in a variety of ways and areas. The 6’5 prospect shows flashes of his potential and I’m eager to see how he continues to expand his game, as he should be on more radars.
2026 Prince Nwokemodo (Word of God)
There is no doubt about it; Nwokemodo has continued to develop, add more to his game, and continues to get stronger overall as a prospect. Early on, this was a young big that gave you those flashes of his potential but now he is being more consistent with his play and how effective he can be at 6’10. He is getting better offensively, displaying much better feel and touch, as well as growing into his body as a true big that can rebound and protect the paint. And we don’t see that trend stopping anytime soon.
