Player: Levi “Sonny” Watkins
Class: 2030

On multiple occasions this summer, Phenom Hoops had a chance to watch the future with young prospects coming through our platform.  Several young players were able to flourish on the big stage, which included one player that really impressed early on. 2030 6’0 Sonny Watkins led the way for SW15H Elite on several occasions this summer, and it is clear that he is a young prospect worth monitoring down the road.

Watkins has a basketball background that has allowed him to learn the game and understand his capabilities at a young age, as well as already having a tremendous size and skill set.  Watkins consistently got the job done on the court, helping dominate and lead his team with his length and size, as he was a force around the basket and in the paint. On several occasions, he showed that he could simply be a force inside and on the glass, creating and capitalizing on second-chance opportunities. But he also had a great knowledge of the game, being able to create well off the dribble, get to his spots well, knock down shots inside and out, play with a terrific pace, and have a natural feel for the game at a young age.

This is a young man who has a ton of potential and has shown that consistently all summer long, as he should be a prime target in the Class of 2030 in the coming years.
