This past weekend, Phenom Hoops traveled to Raleigh, North Carolina our second live period of the travel ball season. Between the competition and slew of prospects, it made for a pretty exciting weekend. Like normal, college coaches came through the various sites to watch players and see who will be the next to emerge as a potential target. Considering that most of their attention was focused on the oldest age group, we will take a closer look at some individuals who stood out and warrant attention'like Cameron McKinney.'

There are plenty of players who get overlooked despite constant production, and McKinney seems to fit that notion. He's a main cog for Parkwood during the high school season and seamlessly transitions into an equally meaningful role for CC Elite in the spring/summer, yet doesn't receive the appropriate level of attention from college coaches. Sure, McKinney is slightly undersized for his position as a tough, rugged, high-motor interior piece. However, he simply knows how to outwork opponents and reliably produce within his role on both ends of the floor. McKinney is the type of player that doesn't require a ton of touches to make a lasting impression, as his hustle, rebounding prowess, and willingness to do the little things allow him to consistently outwork others.

He's the type of low-maintenance gamer that tends to have a lot of success in the college game, particularly due to their understanding of how to accept coaching and a lesser role. McKinney is someone who should already be targeted by various college programs, as he has the tools to inevitably carve out a useful role wherever he ends up. Expect his value to continue trending upward through everything he provides for this group.
