Jason Porter sat baseline throughout Day 2, and here are some a the players that caught his eyes.

CLT1

#3 Marco Tampoya, 6′ 2025 F – Very young and slender forward that’s still finding his way. Early signs are promising though. He does things you want to see in a young big. He boxes out, is active on the glass, and gets out and runs to the block in transition. He is going to have to get stronger and work on grabbing the ball on rebounds stronger but, young size is hard to come by and he has it.

#23 Greg Murray, 5’5 2025 G – Type of guard you like to coach. Can tell he has a good feel for the game and sees the floor well enough already. With time and more experience, those traits will only get stronger. The kid plays hard and looks like he likes to compete. Easy with the ball in his hands and can shoot it as well. All the makings of a solid PG here.

Carolina Cavs –

#13 – Earl Grant, 5’8 2025 G – Dude carried a heavy load for his team today as he was only one finding the bottom of the basket for his team in first half. Gets it the old fashioned way, with heart. Gotta love to see that in a young player. Down big he is still diving on the floor for a loose ball and getting after it on the defensive end. Can hit the 3 or attack. No stop on this kids motor.

#32 Parker Renault 5’10 2025 F – Young big showed some good things in losing effort. Has decent size/strength for his age, is a stay at home big and gives solid effort. Needs to be more aggressive and learn how to be a big but had his moments in this one.

SWV Hustle –

#11 Treyvon Rainey, 5’9 2025 G – Solidly built for his age and plays with toughness. Is a bull on the attack when in transition or when looking to attack off the bounce. Will look to feed the post as needed, always something good to see in a young guard.

#13 Torr Sorenson, 6’3 2025 W – Solid young glue piece type kid with a good motor. Showed out solid on both ends of the floor. Good length and instincts serve him well on the defensive end. Will hit the shots expected of him on offensive end. Add in the fact he has coolest hair (and rocks the headband) on the team and you get a player worth noticing.

Save Sports –

#2 Jackson Keith, 6’2 2025 W – Young athletic wing that can make plays on both ends of the floor. Moves well with the ball in his hands and seems to always be around the ball. Like most at this age range, consistency and the ability to finish strong all the time have to be developed. That said, he has the instincts and athleticism needed worth developing.

#30 Kaleb Morrow, 6’3 2025 F – Nice-looking young player shows a good feel for the game already. He can score in and around the lane, shows some developing moves, and looks comfortable when looking to attack his man off the dribble. Ball handling needs work and style can lead to fouls but has all the signs of a prospect moving forward in his development.

WV Generals

#44 Roman Tut, 6’10 2022 F – “King” Tut is simply a stud. Raived about him yesterday and see nothing today to suggest kid is any different. D1 kid all day.

#10 Austin Bell, 6’6 2022 F – Good looking young big can do a bit of everything on the floor. Can step out and stretch the floor some, bang on both ends, and defend. Back to back solid showing here for him. Yet another next level kid on this roster.

#23 Sal Dean, 5’11 2022 G – With all the size on this team they need a motor to make it go. He is that motor. Good on the ball on both ends of the flor and plays the game with a toughness you want to see from a lead guard. Moves the ball well in the halfcourt, will feed his horses, and can make you pay if you sleep on him on the offensive end. Lots to like here.

Flash USA

#33 Jahreece Lynch, 6’1 2022 G – Nice stroke on this kid. Can pull up anywhere with ease and range. Showed good body control and a willingness to attack off the bounce. Will drift out and wait a bit too much for the ball to find him, can be more active without the ball but knows what to do with it when it finds him.

#30 Elijah Johnson, 6′ 2022 G – Tough and crafty, 2 things I love to see in a guard. Showed no fear in attacking the lane against a huge lineup. Used the pull-up, the floater, and everything else in his bag to get the job done.

Renegades

#3 Jayden Munson 6′ 2022 G – Active and springy G that showed he can score at will in this one. It’s not just his ability to score though, its how many ways he can do it that catches your eye. Got it at all 3 levels in this one. Looks to lose interest some on the defensive end but as his team was up 30 by half it is easy to see how one can “tune out” some. Looking forward to seeing him again when the game is tighter.

#7 John Swinger, 6’4 2022 F – Solid program type piece that just does his job when on the floor. Can hit the high jumper, will do the dirty work inside on defense, and is strong enough to work low on offense as needed. Glue type kid that is always going to give you solid production in a setting like this.

PSB Winston Free

#00 Jeremiah Scale, 6’3 2022 W – Had to play as a big more in this one but has the athleticism and bounce to play on the wing as needed. Strong kid worked hard despite being down big early and often. A lone bright spot for his team in this one. Goes hard to the glass on rebounds and uses body and bounce well on the offensive end as well.

CLT1

#23 Greg Murray, 5’5 2025 G – Like this kid more and more every time I see him work. 2nd time seeing him today. Did nothing to disappoint.

#0 Jay Morgan 5’10 2025 G – Back to back solid scoring outings here for this kid. Kid can shoot, is able to hit from anywhere, and will leak out on the break and make the extra pass as needed. Love to see him get stronger with the ball off the bounce. Right now projects more as a catch and shoot weapon. That said, he has time on his side to better develop the rest of his tools and become a weapon on the floor.

SWV Hustle

#12 Torr Sorenson, 6’3 2025 W – Seen him twice today and both times he’s done work. No flash, go to work, get it done type kid. Is going to be fun to watch his development. Going to be a higher floor on him than most especially if he continues to grow.

#4 Bryson Blankenship, 6’3 2025 F – Did not review him last time out but could have as he was a solid performer in his game earlier in the day. Long and slender forward has the potential to develop nicely over the next few years. You can tell he is still growing into his frame and game and he will need to develop his footwork and add strength but he is young. He has time to get there.

#11 Treyvon Rainey. 5’9 2025 G – Back to back solid showings from this kid. Tough competitor is like a shark, always on the attack.

Team Charlotte

#13 Nick Hailey 6’4 2024 G – Long and athletic guard that can really stretch the floor with his stroke. Looks comfortable with the ball in his hands, can take up space in a hurry on his defender, and has enough bounce to get off on most all he faces. Will drift at times on defensive end and will need to lock in like he does on offense but kids got the tools.

PSB Charlotte

#3 Micah Gilbert, 6’3 2024 W – Powerhouse player at this level. Was dominant last night and has been again so far today. The high ceiling player has D1 look to him all day long. The kid has been unstoppable since he hit the floor last night. A walking bucket who could be playing higher and doing the same.

Eastern Carolina Phenomz

#1 Shamel Baker, 6′ 2024 G – Easy scorer at the guard position. Very fluid and smooth in his movements out on the floor. Was main bright spot in this one for his team as he was only real scoring threat early. Would love to see him lock in more when ball isn’t in his hands but, when he does have it he can go to work. Projects as an easy scorer at the varsity level in HS.

Team Trezz

#0 Jordan Vick, 5’9 2024 G – Quick lead guard with some bounce to him. Offensive minded lead guard can pull the 3 or work off the bounce. Works hard on the defensive end and shows some “umph” to his game. Type of kid you can see leading a team easily.

#13 Quentin Cozart, 6’4 2024 F – True big that plays with power and works the paint. Can get into fouls easy with his type of play but not one you have to ask for effort/physicality from out on the floor.Strong fighter on the glass and is one that does not being last line of defense for his team either. He is going to have to grow some if wants to get to where he wants to go as he does not show the tools yet to suggest a move out to the wing is in the making.

E.A. Preps

#2 Snoop Magness, 6’3 2022 G – Big first half for this kid as he hit double digits before the break. Do it all type kid for this team. Can go get it on the glass, lead the break, and drive and finish as needed. Solid athlete with bounce. Had a complete game. Translates to the next level easily.

#6 William Jenkins, 6′ 2022 G – Loved the way this kid got after it on the defensive end. He was in his mans jersey start to finish. Was able to turn defense to offense on several occasions. Try hard/high motor kid that will always find his way to the floor playing defense like he did. Offensively, was solid. Most of his work came in transition or driving to the basket. Did create for others though.

Team Rougue

#24 Shaun Cusano, 6’6 2022 F – Length that can shoot always finda a home at the next level. That being said, Shaun is a future college player. He can step out and drill the 3 (had 3 in first half), get out in transition, and get some in the paint as well. Very quick release on this kid, only needs a whisper of space to get off. Was an easy bucket start to finish in this one. Showed well on the glass and even signs of being ok on the handle (not strongest part of game at this point though).
