Patrick O’Brien was on deck for Phenom Hoops at the VA Top 80 and here are the names that took his eye

Isaiah Todd

Isaiah Todd (2020, John Marshall): He was the talent that brought the eyes and didn’t disappoint. He is a 6’9 prospect that plays like a junior or senior but is only a freshman. This kid has all the tools and scouts were talking the last time they saw a prospect this good from the state of Virginia. Has all the tools, can stretch the floor or use his size down in the paint.

Dmitri Georgiadis (2018, Benedictine Prep): Georgiadis is one that is productive on the court. Maybe not the most athletic but polished with his inside moves in the post, hands always up, runs the floor very well. Coaches really need to take a look at this young man.

Myles Jones (2018, Blue Ridge): Jones had a solid game to start the day. Has an interesting shot but it is effective. He showed he has nice size as a guard but can score on multiple levels. In the first game, he knocked down four three-pointers.

Deshaun Wade (2018, Miller School): Wade was effective and is a shooter. He can really be a threat no matter where he is on the court and with a strong frame, can be physical when he needs to be. He is a tough guard to defend and is underrated with his vision and ability.

Henry Coleman III

Darius McGhee (2018, Blue Ridge): McGhee has been a known name and recently committed to Liberty. But there is no doubt how much this kid can put up points and is a strong point guard. He sees the floor well in transition as well.

Henry Coleman III (2020, Benedictine Prep): Coleman is a young prospect that holds Division I offers already and can see why. Stands at 6’7 but is a great athlete and uses his length even more to rise up over opponents.

Jaylin Stewart (2019, Walsingham Academy): Love this kid on how he hustles and his motor on the court. He flat out gets you those extra possessions and continues to move all over the court. He is a player that coaches would love to have.

Antonio Warner (2018, Stonewall Jackson): Warner is a strong point guard with excellent vision and always is looking for his teammates. But he also displayed that he can shoot the ball and attack the rim.

Dajour Rucker (2019, Cape Henry Collegiate): Watching Rucker play is just an enjoyment to watch on the court. The way he plays the game, he simply enjoys playing the game of basketball. And for his size, he shows that he can score in a lot of areas on the court.

Chris Rogers

Chris Rogers (2018, East Rockingham): What we liked about Rogers isn’t how he scored the ball but the way he ran the point guard position, set up his teammates, and handled the ball. Rogers was under the radar at the event but played well.

Darrick Jones (2020, Millwood): Watch your head when you go up with him because he can fly with ease. He is a tremendous athlete and with throw it down on anyone in his way. Really nice length as a guard.

Jalen Hargrove (2019, Matoaca): Hargrove is a newer name that really competed at the event. He has nice size a 6’5, motor was excellent, and played within his game. Rebounded well and is under the radar athletic wise. One to keep an eye on.

Cole Meadows (2018, Giles): Meadows absolutely competed at the event and took some eyes with him. He has a nice release on his shot, showed he can hit the outside shot, and runs the floor well in transition to attack the basket. He also has nice lift when he gets in the air.

Sadaar Calhoun (2018, Blue Ridge): Calhoun is a tremendous scorer and was one of the top prospects in the camp. Young man is gifted and there is a reason why he is gaining heavy interest from programs around the country.

Tre King

Bassirou Diop (2018, Bayside): Diop is an intriguing prospect to watch with his size and versatility. He is strong enough to finish at the rim but is capable of knocking down jumpers. He showed his scoring capability in the first game of the event, putting in 36 points. Also very solid on the boards.

DJ Myers (2018, Hargrave Military): Myers certainly has bulked up in a good way and is much stronger than he was before. It helps him battle wherever he is on the court and really battle down in the post more with his size.

Tre King (2018, Hargrave Military): King is a very good prospect and the amount of recruitment he is getting surprised us. He is a 6’8 prospect that is super athletic, strong, and is just a dog on the court. Should be getting a lot more attention.

EJ Williams (2018, Hargrave Military): Williams is a 6’11 big man. He had his moments at times and competed but still continuing to work on his game. But you can’t teach his size and he certainly can be a big man that covers the post.

Mark Williams (2020, Norfolk Academy): Williams is going to be a load the more he develops. Outstanding size already for such a young prospect, nice touch, runs the floor well, and really played well. Exceeded several expectations and he has the blood lines in his family to play ball. The more his confidence and the fight grows in him, the more he will be one of the top players in the state of Virginia.
