Grayson vs. Carmel Christian

Grayson came out strong to hold the early lead but Carmel Christian's defense in the second quarter helped them earn a 32-29 halftime lead.  Both teams continued to battle in the second half, but the duo of Chauncey Wiggins and Tyrese Elliott helped lead Grayson to a big 65-58 victory between two very good programs.

For Grayson, Elliott had a strong showing, really being able to penetrate, find his spots, and get to the line, as he finished with 21 points. Wiggins had his best showing in the second half, as the Clemson 6'10 commit really showcased his ability to finish down low but also step out and find his own mid-range shot; an incredibly mobile forward that moves extremely well, can create for himself, uses his length to his advantage, and was extremely active on the boards as he finished with 18 points and 17 rebounds.

For Carmel Christian, 2022 Cade Tyson once again led the charge.  At 6'8, he does a terrific job in mixing up his shots, whether it is stepping out from three, putting it on the deck for a pull-up mid-range shot, or finishing around the basket.  2023 Kaleb Siler was solid in the first half, showing nice touch around the rim, finishing with 10 points while 2022 Logan Threatt had 12 points.

John Marshall vs. Archbishop Stepinac

It was a low-scoring first half for both teams, but John Marshall was able to hold the lead for much of the first half and the third quarter.  But the offense started to pick up for both teams in the second half, and it was the shot-making of Stepinac that allowed them to come back and get the 54-50 victory.

Stepinac was led by their guard play, as 2022 Samuel Gibbs was able to knock down outside shots but also finish well around defenders on his way to 13 points.  Also, keep an eye 2025 6'0 Danny Carbuccia, as the young point guard showed flashes of his feel, his pace, his ability to score from multiple levels, and he should only grow as a prospect; he already holds multiple offers and more will be coming quickly for him.  Also liked 2023 6'7 Isaiah Alexander, as he provided productive minutes and impacted the floor in an array of ways, finishing with 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks.

For John Marshall, 2023 Dennis Parker really started to come alive in the second half, using his length well and showing off his perimeter shot-making more on his way to 14 points to lead his team.  2023 Steven Stinson went for 9 points and 9 rebounds, displaying his potential in producing on several areas.

Denver Prep vs. St. Frances Academy

A very intriguing matchup coming in with some highly-talented prospects on display.  Denver Prep found themselves down after the first quarter but controlled the rest of the game throughout, using their size and length to attack down in the paint.  Led by Baye Fall, Denver Prep was able to secure the 73-64 victory.

Fall was the go-to player in this one, as he finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds.  His 7'0 frame, his ability to move like a guard at times, use his size and incredible wingspan in the paint and on the boards, and just how mobile he is from rim to rim and able to move on the court is why he is regarded as one of the top prospects in the class of 2023.  '23 Assane Diop also had flashes, as the 6'11 big man is yet another fluid athletic forward with a ton of size.  2024 Michael Lewis Jr. played well for Denver, picking his spots, staying aggressive offensively to get to the line, dishing out some assists, and finishing with 17 points.

For St. Frances, it was 2024 Daquan Davis and 2022 Bryce Lindsey that stole the show in this one.  Davis is an intriguing guard that really set the tone of his team early, scoring in a variety of ways, stepping out from the perimeter, showing his motor on the boards, and in creating steals.  Really liked his presence on both ends and should only see more schools coming his way.  Lindsey got all his points from three, knocking down six 3-pointers with confidence, doing all of that in the second half.
