2022 Pharoah Lassiter (Prise Academy): The 6’4 guard did all he could to carry his team on Day 2, as he finished the game with 25 points. Though his 3-point shot wasn’t falling on the day (2-for-8 behind the arc), Lassiter really showcased his scoring ability and finding his shot.
2022 Zaheem Jackson (OnPoint Academy): Jackson was one of two players that had a double-double, as Jayden Stephens also finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds. But Jackson, a 6’3 point guard, was really able to showcase his all-around game at his size. He can score the ball effectively, score in a variety of ways, help on the boards (recorded 10 on the day), and also finished with four assists and two steals. He led the charge on Day 2 for OnPoint Academy in a victory.
2022 Jerome Brewer (Sunrise Christian): Really liked the activity level from the 6’8 forward. He finished the game with a double-double, scoring 17 points and recording 10 rebounds. He was active and showcased his motor on the boards, really working hard in the paint. He also moves well on both ends, can step out and defend, and showed nice touch and feel in the paint.
2022 Zytarious Mortle (Sunrise Christian): It was a bounce-back type game for the guard, as he looked to be aggressive early and continued to showcase that throughout much of the game. The 6’2 guard has a good frame, can battle through defenders, and showcased his ability to get to the paint and finish well, whether it was touch off the glass or finishing at the rim.
2022 Jalen Hampton (Link Year Academy): Hampton was the leader in this one, as he finished with 24 points and 8 rebounds in the victory. Really liked his versatility on the floor and how he can be used with his 6’6 big frame. Hampton showed that he can score inside, put the ball on the deck and create for himself, step out and show his pull-up game, and his ability to get the board and push in transition.
2022 Omar Henry (Link Year Academy): Henry, who is a 6’7 prospect, really captured our eyes with how he can operate on the court. He finished with 14 points and showed his ability to take his defenders off the dribble and finish strong at or around the rim but also his ability to step out and hit the three. Can really be a tough matchup with his length, athleticism, and ability to do a little bit of everything.
2022 Christian Henry (The Skill Factory): The guard led the charge offensively, scoring 18 points to lead his team. Henry was able to display his ability to knock down shots from multiple levels, as well as use his quickness to penetrate and also find his teammates. Had some good flashes in this game and hit multiple threes.
2022 Jonathan Dunn (We Are United): The 6’8 forward really had a great showing in this game, really being effective on the court and showing his ability to stretch the floor. He has good length to his game and when matched up against the bigs, he really showed his ability to step out and display his comfort level with his mid-range shot. That goes with his feel around the basket as well. Dunn had the best scoring out-put on the night, going for 30 points and 11 rebounds!
2022 Leland Walker (Hargrave Military): We are quite familiar with Walker and he continues to not disappoint. Walker is really at his best when he puts the pressure on the defense and gets downhill. He excels out in transition in finishing, but also creating space to attack the paint and either finish or make the defender foul, getting to the line. Tough guard to stay in front of at times with good athleticism and body control. Walker was terrific, scoring 24 points to lead his team.
2022 Keon Thompson Jr. (Hargrave Military): Really just what I’ve seen out of Thompson the few occasions we have watched him. Just a tough guard that can fill it up, score in a variety of ways, plays extremely hard, and just knows how to make plays with the ball in his hands. Good on the boards as well while also finding his teammates well. Think he is an underrecruited prospect that a college program would love to snag. He finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds.
