2024 Molly Burns (Ardrey Kell): Burns has been a familiar name with Phenom Hoops in the past and she continues to impress with what she shows. She is a crafty, shifty guard that has tremendous range and confidence from the perimeter. She has no problem letting it go from behind the arc, but she also can create for herself and get to the basket. Defensively, she is scrappy and tough, really getting into her opponents and creating turnovers.
2026 Autumn Washington (Ardrey Kell): Washington is a young prospect but just from the flashes that we saw, she could be one of the next big names to come through the Charlotte area. She has great size already, but she does a tremendous job in making plays for herself and for others, getting into the paint, delivering terrific passes, and showing that she can hit shots from outside. Put her name down to watch.
2024 Lauren Arnold (West Rowan): West Rowan was impressive overall, but it was Arnold that really captured our eyes, especially with her ability to push in transition, create and break down her defenders, and get to the basket, finishing through contact or getting to the free-throw line. She was part of an impressive group on display at the event. Make sure you watch for West Rowan this year.
2023 Alyssa Lewis (Hickory Ridge): Lewis looks to be one of the clear leaders once again. After a season in which she averaged 14 points and 3.7 assists per game, Lewis is showing that she is one of the go-to players for Hickory Ridge. She does a terrific job in breaking down defenders and creating for herself, while also seeing the floor well.
2023 Kirsten Lewis-Williams (Lake Norman): Lewis-Williams was quite impressive on the floor, but she has only continued to display her impact when she is on the court. She can do a little bit of everything on the floor, whether it is run and initiate the offense, find her teammates, create and score for herself, attack and help on the boards, and just be a leader on the court. High IQ prospect that really helps run the show.
2025 Samantha Shehan (Lake Norman): Both Samantha and her sister Alexis, played well. But it was Samantha that really captured my eyes with her ability to score from a variety of levels and make her impact felt in several areas. Whether it was moving without the ball and getting easy buckets around the basket or stepping out with a fluid jumper, Shehan had a strong showing. A lot of versatility to her game.
2023 Anastasia Sinclair (South Meck): Sinclair is one we saw last year at our Holiday Classic, and she showcased her point guard feel once again. She does an excellent job in reading the floor, getting out in transition to score, or finding ways to get into the paint for herself or for her teammates. A balanced, quick guard on the floor that continues to play at a high level.
2023 Kairah Dixon-Booker (North Meck): Booker has been a known name and she continues to be a strong force on the court. There is no doubt about it, she will be one of the go-to players and leaders for the Vikings this year, especially with her ability to play multiple positions, he ability to get downhill and score but also knock down shots, and her impact on the boards. One can see that she is just a fierce competitor that never gives up and continues to attack, as she finished some tough baskets all throughout.
2023 Xia Merras (Myers Park): Merras quickly became one of my favorite players of the day. The scrappy, high-energy guard just seemed to make play after play after play. Her ability to create as a guard is quite impressive, getting by defenders, attacking the defense, and finding her teammates. And that doesn’t even mention her impact and ability to be an absolute flamethrower from the perimeter. I expect a big season from Merras, as the Mustangs will be a for-sure team you will want to watch this upcoming season.
