2023 Riley Allenspach (Providence Day): The growth that we have seen in Allenspach has been impressive, as he continues to understand and use his body more and more to his advantage, while also becoming more fluid and stronger at his size. One can see that he is becoming more active on his feet, as well as being active on the glass, and showing tremendous touch in the paint. He continues to finish strong through contact as well.
2024 Kany Tchanda (Concord Academy): Tchanda is going to be a hot target for many coaches if he continues to trend the way he has been trending early on in North Carolina. A very skilled and young forward, Tchanda is one of the most fluid forwards we have in the state and his confidence in operating and finding success on multiple levels is impressive. He has a great motor, moves so well on both ends, can step out with his game, and is strong on the glass; and he is just starting his story.
2023 Mychael Mitchell (Northside Christian): Mitchell continues to help run the show at Northside Christian. He is a quick and shifty guard in the open floor, that plays with a terrific feel and understanding with the ball in his hands. One can see that he has only elevated his play and developed his overall feel, as he can attack in a variety of ways and is really starting to become a leader for this team.
2023 Zion McDuffie (Butler): An underrated junior in the Charlotte area, McDuffie continues to put up solid numbers and showing off his versatility/athleticism. He is a fluid athlete that can work inside and out, make his presence known on both ends of the court, makes plays defensively, and can really finish at the rim.
2023 Jakel Powell (NC GBB): One of the best performances I’ve seen from Powell this season, as he was working on all cylinders in this game. He continues to show his ability to knock down shots from an array of levels, really being effective in creating his own shot. But he also showed his more assertive side with his game, making plays on defense and attacking the basket.
2022 Quante Berry (WS Christian): Berry continues to have a stellar month of play, really putting together some impressive showings. He looks comfortable in playing his position, getting downhill, creating off the dribble, and really finishing well. What really sums up Berry’s game is that he simply is a playmaker, as he can impact the game in other areas as well.
2022 Santana Smith (Carmel Christian): It was a balanced attack overall for Carmel Christian but Smith led the charge in the win, showing off his perimeter shot throughout. He was able to knock down six three-pointers in the win, on his way to 20 points.
