2027 6’2 Davion Thompson (Meanstreets) – Bolingbrook HS

Thompson came in as a well-known young prospect already garnering college coaches’ attention. Holding offers from schools like Wake Forest and Michigan, and then adding another on the day from Tennessee, Thompson has an extremely smooth feel and a tremendous understanding of the game. His blend of pace, feel, ability to create, being a multi-level scorer, and his impressive IQ, and that list of offers should only grow.

2027 6’1 Jason Gardner Jr. (Indiana Elite) – Fishers HS

I was incredibly impressed with Gardner Jr. and just how electric he can be on the court. Gardner has excellent speed and is simply wired to be a playmaker on the court. He is an explosive, quick guard who is excellent out in transition, creates well off the dribble while getting by defenders facilitates well to others, and can knock down shots from behind the arc. I really liked his overall impact, speed, and ability to fill it up offensively.

2027 6’4 Isaiah Walker (Pro Skills TX) – Mansfield Summit HS

Walker was a new name that grabbed my attention with his overall play and impact. Walker plays with tremendous energy and a strong motor, as he plays hard all throughout. He excels getting downhill, attacking off the dribble, and finishing strong at the basket or initiating contact.  On several occasions, he was able to impact the game in a variety of ways such as on the boards and defensively, which helped turn into offense.

2027 6’10 Kamsi Awaka (New Heights Lightning) – Archbishop Carroll

It wasn’t hard to miss Awaka on the court, as the 6’10 big man was extremely physical and made his presence felt in the paint. Awaka is one that really controls the paint defensively, altering and blocking shots, being disruptive and a force on the boards, and can be a bully down in the paint offensively. He embraces contact down in the block, finishes and moves opponents offensively, and has good mobility in his game. Overall, Awaka was one of the biggest forces in the Class of 2027 on display.

2027 6’7 Ahmad Hudson (JL3 Elite) – Ruston HS

Hudson was another new name personally for me, as he is a dual-sport athlete. He is a strong and physical forward but is also one that holds offers already for football from high-major schools. Hudson impressed with his overall impact, whether it was being a force offensively, knocking down shots from outside, and looking to finish at the rim. But he made a strong impact defensively as well, being a force on the boards, having strong timing in altering shots, and just being a competitive force.
