2022 Kusamae Draper (SPO Sports):
A new name to the scene for Phenom Hoops, the 6’8 big man grabbed some attention early on Day 2 with his productivity and activity down low on both sides. Draper has a good feel offensively, sealing in the post and taking contact to help get to the line. But you also like his length that helps in on the boards on both sides. Draper also has the ability to step out and be a threat from deep as well.
2022 Nygie Stroman (RDC Lakers):
Stroman is one that I think personally doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. We are talking about a 6’6 wing-type player that can be a force down in the paint and showcases a big-time motor on the boards and creating second-chance points, while also stretching the floor and showing his perimeter feel and versatility. There is a lot to like about what he provides on the floor.
2023 Elijah Burnett (Charlottes Wolves):
Burnett had a very good Dady 1 and backed it up with a terrific 24-point performance to start Day 2. Burnett has a unique skill in which he can fill up the stat sheet, whether it is dishing, rebounding, or scoring but his scoring impact has certainly picked up. He plays with such an understanding of how to get others involved,
2024 Levon Jacobs (Team FLY):
A young name to start keeping track of, Jacobs is one that quickly captures your eyes with his 6’7 long frame and a nice skillset with it. He has a nice feel with the ability to play outside, as well as battle, and use his size around the rim as well. Jacobs can be disruptive defensively, while also having a nice balance in several areas of the floor offensively. Still a developing young man but one to keep track of.
2022 Grayson Kirk (York County):
Kirk has been one of the most consistent scoring guards this summer and has really been a big impact in putting York County on a bigger radar. Kirk plays extremely hard and has a knack for how to get by defenders and penetrate the gaps, while also knocking down shots. One of the more underrated players in South Carolina, as he continues to have a consistent and productive summer.
2023 Jah Short (Garner Road):
Schools are already jumping on board for Short and it seems to be only a matter before more start getting involved. Short continues to assert himself on the offensive end, using a blend of skill, athleticism, and his size, really showing his ability to get downhill and finish in a variety of ways. He should be one of the next stars at Farmville Central and a name to start really jumping on.
2022 Cole Sinclair (Durham Hurricanes):
Sinclair has simply been a scoring machine all summer long and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. He continues to put on a show with his ability to put the ball in the basket. Whether it is stepping out from behind the three, penetrating and getting to the rim to finish, or getting to the line, Sinclair continues to post 30+ point performances and there aren’t many slowing him down.
2023 Maki Johnson (Wildcat Select):
Johnson is ranked as one of the premier talents in the country for his class and you can quickly see why so many schools are coming his way with his 6’4 frame and ability to knock down shots with unlimited range. But he isn’t just a shooter, as he can score in a variety of ways, plays with a great pace, and is tough on the floor. Skilled prospect and one that is going to be a hot target for many schools.
