2021 6’7 Alex Rush (Tennessee Tigers 17u): Rush is a power forward that works really well with his back to the basket, facing up and creating off one or two dribbles, or even showing off his mid-range shot. Liked his feel for the game around the basket.
2021 6’7 Sam Specht (Tennessee Tigers 17u): A young man that has the size to compete down low, which he showed at times as well but also a smooth shooting shot from the perimeter. Multiple times he spotted up and confidently knocked down the three but also seems to be adding more to his inside game.
2021 6’9 Keeyan Itejere (Upward Stars 3SSB 17u): Itejere might not always post the big numbers but when he scores, it certainly looks impressive. What you have to like about his game is his ability to impact in multiple ways and on both sides. He flies through the air with power and finishes at the rim strong, runs the floor incredibly well, and is a difference-maker on the defensive end with his length.
2021 6’0 Khalil Brantley (Mint Hill Lakers): Brantley is absolutely wired to score, with his shiftiness and ability to create space; he has shown it time and time again. But late on Day 2, was impressed with his vision and ability to find his teammates. With his ability to attack and score, defenses had to respect and he made crisp passes for his teammates.
2021 6’5 Taihland Owens (Georgia Select AllStars): Owens is one that more coaches should be on if they aren’t already. It would be interesting to see what his recruitment is like as he is a 6’5 prospect that initiates the offense, pushes the break with great feel, and is a score on several levels, especially from the perimeter. Tough to find a player with his size and blend.
