2025 Miles Leaks (Carmel Christian)
It was a strong showing overall for this group for several players, but Leaks was one that really stepped up in a big way with his offensive playmaking. On Day 1, Leaks was an effective shooter from the perimeter, hitting multiple threes, showing a confident release in knocking down shots as well as making plays in a variety of ways. Leaks helped bring a strong and balanced attack for Carmel Christian.
2025 Myles Smith (Salisbury)
A new addition this season, Smith clearly showed that he is going to be one of the go-to leaders for this team. We knew of Smith from last year, and he continues to bring intrigue with his superb athleticism and downhill ability. Smith showed that in big ways, rising high and throwing multiple dunks down, but also love his overall activity defensively, creating steals, attacking in transition, and getting downhill. He finished with 22 points to help lead his team.
2028 Chase Smith (Queens Grant)
Smith continues to shine early on and has clearly put his name as one of the top young prospects here in the state of North Carolina. He has a great blend of size, physicality, strength, and overall skill set that sets him apart from most. He does a great job in making his presence both in scoring with touch and physicality around the basket, as well as being a force on the boards. Smith has a great overall feel for the game and we are eager to see how he continues to develop down the road.
2026 Q Williams (FCDS)
Williams may have had the best performance on Day 1, as he was a big leader for his team to secure the impressive win. Williams has such a great feel for the game and is such a natural playmaker. On several occasions, he was to create his own scoring opportunities, showing his range, knocking down tough shots from outside, creating space for himself, and attacking well off the dribble, as he finished with 21 points. But overall, Williams was able to flourish as a playmaker for himself and set up others; someone you want to have the ball in his hands.
2028 Kelvin Anderon (Catholic)
Just a young freshman guard, there is a lot to like about his game and potential in what he could be eventually. As a 6’2 point guard, Anderson was able to bring a strong blend to the court with his ability to get inside the defense, facilitate and set up teammates, and be a strong presence offensively. He has a strong blend of athleticism to go with IQ, playmaking, and facilitating which should only continue to develop and garner attention for D1 programs.
