2027 Sean Nix (Cannon)
It has been fun to watch the young rising star in action this weekend, as he led his team on both days. On Day 2, he finished with 26 points while also recording eight rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Nix has truly blossomed as a player with his frame, size, and overall development, as he shows great pace and feel overall. He is comfortable in a variety of areas on the court, playing on and off the ball, scoring inside and out, finishing through contact, and creating well. Also liked his impact on the glass for his team.
2025 Chandler Kennedy (Carmel Christian)
It feels like a broken record these days but once again, Kennedy was able to demonstrate his impact all over the floor and college programs should take notice. This point guard is an absolute competitor and really finds ways to make a difference on both sides of the court. A strong creator who isn’t afraid to attack the defense and finish over defenders, as well as knock down open shots. But again, his impact on the defensive end is so impressive, especially with his scrappy nature and on-ball defense.
2025 KJ Younger (Weddington)
Younger did what he has been doing for quite some time. He may be one of the most physically dominating prospects in the state; you know what he can do and provide but you simply can’t stop it. But you can see that he has really worked hard on adding more to his game, showing his ability to be more of a perimeter threat, and his impact on the defensive end (racked up seven steals in the game). His impact can be felt all over and he did all he could do to help secure the win.
2028 Bobby Montgomery (Queens Grant)
Montgomery was big early on in the first half, as the 5’10 point guard continued to flash his ability from behind the arc, hitting multiple threes. He knows how to get his shot off quickly and has confidence in his range. But in the second half (and in critical times of the game), Montgomery was able to battle through defenders, get to his spots, and knock down shots with his jumper with confidence. Really stepped up on Day 2 to secure the victory.
2025 Brett Freeman (Ardrey Kell)
Freeman started the season in a big way and continued that trend on the big stage at the Phenom Lakesgiving. The 6’5 prospect has been a scoring machine as he finished leading the charge once again with 26 points. Freeman does a great job in creating problems for defenses with his size but also is one that understands how to create, attack inside, finish over defenders with his athleticism, and score from all levels. It was an impressive start to the season for this unsigned senior.
2025 Kellen Karr (North Lincoln)
Karr is a stat stuffer on the court and he put that on display at the event. The 6’6 versatile guard just does it all and has done so for some time now. He is a strong creator, can be physical and finish at or around the basket, is comfortable along the perimeter, and continues to flourish with his vision and playmaking. Add on top his ability to rebound at his size, he simply impacts the game in so many ways for his team.
2025 Trent Steinour (Lake Norman)
Steinour looks locked and loaded for a big season, and he showed that not only on Day 1 as well as Day 2. The 6’10 big man was a force all over the court, as he is simply a matchup nightmare for opponents. Steinour is a very mobile and fluid big man who can flourish inside and out, displaying touch and finishing abilities, as well as comfort from the perimeter. Defensively, he is such a difference-maker on the glass and alters plenty of shots, really controlling the paint.
