2024 Bryson Cokley has risen up the ranks and proven his game over the last year or so; it is evident. First watching him quite some time ago to where he is today, it is easy to see that this young 6’6 prospect has put in the work to elevate his game. Playing this summer with CP3 really helped the young prospect and now he is ready to make even more noise at his new program, Christ School.

We discuss the latest with this rising star in North Carolina as he talks about his summer with CP3 and the Peach Jam, his focus on this upcoming high school season, and we talk about the latest in his recruitment, already holding offers from UC San Diego and Wake Forest. Who else has shown interest' We discuss it all.

Phenom: How has everything been going your way these days, as far as basketball'  How has this summer been for you overall'
Cokley: This summer was a great experience, playing with CP3 has helped me grow both as a player and a person.  Just been taking every opportunity to get better.

Phenom: What was your focus this summer with your team and with your game' What were you hoping to show and learn'
Cokley: Our whole focus with CP3 this summer was to win Peach Jam.  We fell short but we will be back next year.  This summer, I really just focused on being aggressive and being an all-around threat on the floor.  I don't really go on the floor to prove anything to anyone, I just play my game.

Phenom: Really have noticed more of your all-around game and being more assertive. How do you think that will help you this upcoming high school season'
Cokley: Transferring to Christ School was probably the best decision I could have made. I'm sure I'll have a bigger role as a scorer and defensive player. Hopefully, lead our team to a ring.

Phenom: Playing with your coach again, what are you excited about this upcoming season and competing at a high level'
Cokley: Yes sir, Coach Coley puts me in the best positions to go where I want to go.  I just go out and perform.  I'm excited to get to know the guys better and compete against the best.  All while getting my body ready for the next AAU season.

Phenom: We have seen your game countless times but how would you best describe your game on the floor'
Cokley: I'm a 6'5/6'6 wing that can score from pretty much anywhere on the floor.  I play above the rim as well and on the defensive end, I'm a pest.

Phenom: Recruitment has gone well early on. First, what was it like to get that first offer from UC San Diego' Was it a relief to get that first offer and what all have you learned about the program'
Cokley: Getting that first offer kind of took a lot of pressure off my shoulders. But I was quickly reminded that I needed to keep working hard to get where I wanted to be. I've spoken with the coaches a few times. Each time, they remind me that their program was like a family.

Phenom: Wake Forest had to be a huge offer. What was your excitement with your first high-major offer and how did you hear about it'
Cokley: Yes sir, I was extremely excited to get the offer but again, was quickly reminded that I needed to keep working hard to get where I wanted to be.  During the LIVE Period with Christ School, I had a great last game and Wake Forest set up a call on Coach Coley's phone as soon as I got off the court to offer me.

Phenom: What did they have to say when they offered'
Cokley: The assistant, Coach Shay, told me that the head coach loved my game.  He told me about the history of Wake Forest, then told me that he had called to offer me.

Phenom: Have any other schools been showing interest your way that you know of'
Cokley: Yes, I spoke with Clemson. South Carolina and Virginia have reached out to Coach Coley.

Phenom: What did they all have to say in general'
Cokley: I've personally only spoken with Clemson but the assistant coach just reached out to get to know me and to introduce himself.  Telling me a little about the program and the school in general.

Phenom: That is awesome.  I know you are ready for the upcoming high school season but do you have any goals set for yourself or at Christ School'
Cokley: I just want to be the best player I can be for Christ School.  Of course, we want a ring this year as well. As of right now, I don't have any goals set, like I said I just want to play my maximum potential this season.
