2026 Jacquan Clay (Carolina Rockets)I'm not sure Jacquan knows how good he actually is. While he consistently produces on both ends, he keeps the same calm demeanor and timid nature, almost casually dominating without realizing it. He's blessed with the natural athleticism and size to terrorize guys down low, especially as a defender. He can also put it on the floor and get downhill, using long strides and great coordination that will take years for others his size to catch up to.

2026 Lance Barnes (Carolina Heights)I've said it all weekend, Lance Barnes is a guy you want leading your team. He's a natural PG that has the IQ and unselfishness as well as the passing ability to create for others. Simply makes tough winning plays, which led them to wins against good opponents. Because of his size and length, he can matchup with bigger guys down low, which he did all game against some bruiser on the Carolina Rockets. Great stamina, and he'll always need it because he's too vital to leave out for too long

2024 Makel Smith (NLPB 336)Makel lit it up Sunday morning, going for 28 points. He gets to the basket at will with his big body, which he's listed at 5'11 185 lbs, and finishes so tough through contact off two feet. Also showed he had range, knocking down 4 threes and displaying the full arsenal of a well rounded game. Simply has a scoring mentality that is going to be big time at Morehead High this season, where he averaged 16 ppg as a freshman.

2025 Byron Arant-Coleman (Basketpoint)Byron was one of the many rough riders this Basketpoint MHG utilized in securing the 14u crown. Although slightly undersized, it made no matter as he made every possession a battle for his adversary. I loved watching him work the high post, which most guys will shy away from since the 3 point line is only a little further back. But he buried the mid range jumpers and attacked from the elbow, proving tough willed and the mentality is all it takes.

2024 Lawrence Turner (Triad Hornets)In the local Greensboro matchup against Carolina Clutch for the 15u title, Lawrence cam to play in a big way! He took it to the opposing posts with no fear, moving them out of the way or taking the foul and finishing. Never wavered energy level, kept that focus locked in all game to clinch the championship.
