6’8 ’23 Patrick Tivnan (Charlotte Catholic)
Although there are plenty of unsigned seniors on display, Tivnan is likely the best big man available across the state. He’s very skilled with the blend of touch, footwork, and perimeter shooting to cause a ton of problems for opponents. Tivnan prefers to operate from the block, but can also be featured from the high post or atop the key. He’s tougher than opponents seem to think, which is evidenced by his activity level and ability to outwork others for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Tivnan also handles the ball well and effectively alters shots around the basket.
6’1 ’25 JD Bowden (United Faith)
It seems like numerous guys always stand out for this United Faith squad, and Bowden is usually among that group. Given his significance as a ball-handler and overall creator, it’s easy to see why. Bowden is a great playmaker with the ability to get downhill, touch the paint, and consistently make the correct read. He also shot the ball well in this contest and offered his usual amount of peskiness on defense.
6’11 ’24 Gabriel Mabor (Gaston Christian)
There are a lot of intriguing prospects in attendance, but Mabor is in a league of his own as far as long-term upside goes. He’s truly just beginning to scratch the surface, yet already knows how to assert himself as a rim-protector and rebounder on both ends of the floor. Mabor moves well for his size, displays nice timing, and offers a very low-maintenance offensive game. He lurks for lobs and putbacks, and can finish effectively out of the post. Mabor is definitely a guy college coaches should monitor.
6’0 ’24 Josh Bullock (Northside Christian)
The balance of Northside Christian is easy to appreciate, especially when Bullock is dictating the action with the ball in his hands. He consistently leads by example and sets the tone on both ends of the floor. Bullock controls the offense, sets up others, and applies efficient scoring pressure as needed. He’s an excellent defender at the point of attack, able to mirror his assignment and force turnovers at a healthy rate, and pushes transition play whenever possible. Between his IQ and general toughness, Bullock is a major difference-maker.
6’6 ’23 Sean Rose (Charlotte Latin)
The two-headed monster was tremendous for Charlotte Latin, and Rose is definitely deserving of acknowledgment for his impressive performance. He utilized his length and perimeter shooting to make a constant impact. Rose was active on the glass, altered shots defensively, and scored at incredibly pivotal moments. He was adaptable to team need and actively toggled between the interior and perimeter whenever necessary.
