The last ten months have been absolutely crazy for travel and high school basketball between the constantly changing Covid protocols, kids infecting others, and cities/states being shut down for extended periods of time. We can pretend that everyone is at an equal disadvantage this season, but folks can easily see know how public-school programs are having much more difficulty overall than the private or independent classifications. Not only are they dealing with no physical interaction with college coaches (along with all types of schools), but their season has been shortened after ending the previous year prior to crowning any state champions. Add in the fact that various travel-ball programs shut down for the summer and players like Chase Lowe have been seemingly recreated their identity from scratch.

Previously, Lowe was widely viewed as a strong, energetic, downhill wing prospect who thrived off of penetration opportunities, moving without the ball, and doing the little things. Fast-forward to the most recent summer season, and Lowe highlighted a completely different array of skills as a clear leader for the CC Warriors. Obviously, majority of his summer was spent with Team Curry, but the battle for minutes and touches didn't allow for the two-way wing to properly shine. Once he joined the Weddington-based group, things just seemed easier for Lowe than ever before. At a long, fluid 6-foot-4, Lowe began showing his ability to legitimately run an offense as the primary ball-handler and creator. Oddly enough, this new-look situation made him look as effective as ever and possibly underrated within the bigger picture of North Carolina's Class of 2022.

Taking a closer look, the Warriors have won six straight games to begin their season'and Lowe has been a massive part of their success. He's posting nightly averages of 11.8 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 6.8 APG, 3.5 SPG, and 1.0 BPG while shooting 47% from the floor. Lowe has been undeniably productive and impressive with this group, which should encourage college coaches to monitor closely over the next calendar year.
