High School Coach Evaluation: First, Kris Warren is dependable, trustworthy and a hard-worker. Arriving early, Kris participated fully in our training/workouts and was always prepared for each practice. Kris is the type of young man who you can trust to get the job done on and off the court.
Second, Kris is a goal-oriented achiever. He sets forth plans for success, then implements his plans with work. For example, when Kris wanted to excel in Basketball, he put forth extra effort in optional evening and weekend training alone. His work produced successes. Kris’ dedication earned him the Most Valuable Player in last year’s Hampton Roads Athletic Conference Tournament. His level of effort set the standard for his younger teammates. What I like about Kris the most is that he exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete. Kris currently has a 4.0 GPA and has received several academic scholarships from several institutions. One of Kris’ strength is his ability to shoot the basketball. He has great range and I consider him to be a great scorer. His ability to make shots at big moments is superb. For example, in last year Conference Championship game, Kris made big shots in the last four minutes of the game which really broke the back of the other team. He demonstrates through his play that he loves the game of basketball and he works hard on his game constantly.
Finally, Kris responds to the call of leadership. Kris’s thoughtful remarks and comments are well received by his teammates. It is true that Kris Warren distinguished himself by his personal hard work, but Kris also earned much respect for his demonstrated ability as to how important it is to work hard in the classroom. At the high school level, it takes much courage to lead, and Kris leads by example. – Dale G. Rucker. Athletic Director/Head Coach – Veritas Collegiate Academy

Coach Frank says: Kris is a shot maker with excellent range; he’s averaging almost 20ppg so far this season! He has good physical attributes, a strong frame and long arms. Incredibly smooth shot creator, makes it look effortless. He has some unexpected explosiveness and deceptive quickness. Kris is a talented ball-handler, knows how to get separation, uses the hesitation move well. He moves well without the ball, gets to open areas and hits the three ball with very good accuracy both with his feet set and off the 1 or two dribble pull-up. He’s a 45% three point shooter for the year but can also hit tough shots off the dribble. He has a good feel for the game and is a very good passer. He makes the extra pass, passes ahead in transition and he can find the open man when picked up on the dribble. Kris has good lateral mobility and is a solid defender. He has an endless source of energy and logs a lot of minutes while being a key contributor offensively. Kris is an efficient scorer, a very good shooter and that translates at every level!
