We are incredibly excited about the programs and the teams we have coming to Phenom’s Summer Jam Session 3. This Saturday (June 23) at Ben L. Smith High School in Greensboro, NC there will be some high level talent in the gym with some great programs, some of which are coming off state titles.

Here are some storylines we will be watching for.

Winston Salem Prep Defends its State Title

Winston Salem Prep stays stocked and locked with talent, every year. Last year they won yet another state title, and this year they are looking to defend it. They are led by sharp shooting 6’2” 2019 Chaz Gwyn and 6’5” 2019 Zack Austin.

As always Winston Salem Prep will reload with talent, as it seems they have junior and senior leaders and incredible freshman and sophomore talent. Look for Gwyn to put up some massive numbers as he is truly a high level shooter. Austin is a do everything wing who will defend multiple positions and score it in transition.

This year starts their run at back to back NCHSAA state championships. They are in the middle of a true dynasty and don’t seem to be slowing down soon.

New Look United Faith Christian Team

Last year United Faith Christian Academy had players sign to play basketball at St Louis, Ohio University, VMI, Roanoke College and UNC-Wilmington. They have been churning out the talent. This year is no different as they carry three players, 6’7” 2019 Jason Thompson, 6’9” 2020 Cameron Stitt and 6’1” 2019 Marcus Henderson, who already carry Division 1 offers.

Watch for this team to be exciting to watch. They have athletes and shooters all over the floor. Their bigs run like wings and their guards push the pace. They have turned into a factory of talent as you should expect the likes of 6’6” 2020 Josh Massey and 6’8” 2019 Sam Wolfe to get offers this July.

The size and length are real. The quickness and athleticism are fun. The talent is at an extremely high level. Watch and enjoy.

The Caleb Mills Show

Caleb Mills is the most natural scorer in the region. It is a big sweeping statement, and you typically try to stay away from those in this profession, but it is true. He is a flat bucket getter and he does so in every setting against every level of opponent.

Mills’ recruitment has been trending up as his latest offer, Cincinnati, took him from a mid major to a borderline power 5 prospect. He still has the likes of Mississippi St, Clemson and others who will be watching him closely in July.

With his efficiency in tact and a good cast surrounding him, expect big numbers for Mills this year as he will go for some major scoring outputs.

Jake Ledbetter & the Villains

Ledbetter is a show to watch, it is that plain and simple. He is a guy who steps on the floor and you don’t think much about as he doesn’t pass the traditional look test. Once the ball is tipped his swag goes straight to 99.

Ledbetter played last season at High Point Christian Academy, he transferred this year to play at Bishop McGuiness. Ledbetter is best on the ball, as he is able to create offense for himself and others. He has a great change of pace and his IQ is off the charts.

However, when Ledbetter is most fun is when he is let loose looking to score. Once he crosses half court, he is in range. He has the ability to get to his spots off the bounce and the craftiness to keep his defender off balance. He will explode in some games this year, and everyone in the crowd will be on their feet. He is that type of player. Houston Baptist got in early on one that will soon become a recruiting commodity.
