July is almost here, and the Live Period is right around the corner. Travel ball programs have been idol over the last month as many players have been traveling around to team camps with their high schools. Now they are back, trying to shake the rust off.
We will host a sold-out field of teams with some top prospects in tow. This Saturday, June 30 at Proehlific Park in Greensboro, NC will be the place to be. And it is Open to the Public.
Here are some of the storylines we will be looking for.
The Emergence of the Word of God 2021 Backcourt Duo
It is a well-known fact that guard are what win you high level games. Word of God Christian Academy, in Raleigh had a pair of 2021 guard transfer in, who are among the top in their class in North Carolina. 6’4 point guard Sean Sims and 6’5 shooting guard BJ Freeman both have great size and aggressive mentalities.
Look for their recruitment to burst, with offers coming left and right as they continue forward. This duo will have three years together, which is scary. They explosion, creating and shot making ability of both is well beyond their years.
Watch closely this weekend at how they perform, it will be a show and that will be what North Carolina teams must look forward to for three more years.
Team Loaded NC Prepares for the Adidas Gauntlet Finale
For starters they carry a consensus top 5 2020 prospect in Isaiah Todd. Todd is a match up nightmare as he is a 6’10” wing who can stroke it and handle in tight spaces. Surrounding Todd, they have a tough minded scoring lead guard with 6’2 Travion McCray, a paint getting pass first PG with 6’3 Deuce Dean, a smooth shooting big forward with 6’8 Justin McCoy, a do it all slashing forward with 6’8 Jae’lyn Withers. Oh yeah, you can’t forget possibly the best on the ball defender in the region with 6’2 Dontrell Shuler.
Each of these players are getting mid to high major offers regularly and their chemistry is off the charts right now. They did well on the Gauntlet leading up to this point, but there is something about this chemistry. Watch for them to make a run up in New York. Watch for each of these players mentioned to be at the tips of college coach’s tongues. They are very good, and they are very fun to watch.
High Flying, Viral, Treyvon Byrd
The last event the 6’6” 2021 prospect play in of ours, he went viral. The dunk he had, where he took off from the free throw line and sat on the dudes back was phenomenal. It was the kind of dunk that stopped the game as both teams and fans reacted.
We are not sure if the stars will align just like they did for this dunk, however be rest assured Treyvon Byrd will put an assault on the rims at Proehlific Park. Get your popcorn and a front row seat, by the third game of the day, the crowd (and players) will be flocking to get their eyes on this leaping machine.
