What a great day of basketball. Already early in the morning and its standing room only with no spots left in the parking lot. There is no doubt the Hoop State shows out for talented basketball and highly competitive games.

So many teams signed up for this 1-day showcase event that we had to split the talent between Prohelific Park and Northeast Guilford High School. The early morning had some good showings are Northeast Guilford as the young kids got rolling.

Here are some of the notable players.

5’11 2020 Mason Griggs (Fort Mill Knicks)

You don’t think much of Griggs when you first see him, but all it takes is him to attack the rim and rise up one time to realize this dude has some dog in him. Griggs is an aggressive, downhill guard who attacks the basket and finishes above the rim. He shot the ball well and played tough defense. He had a couple dunks that really broght thr crowd to their feet.

6’6 2020 Ben Burnham (Fort Mill Knicks)

Burnham is a very efficient player, very aware of his skill set. He scores the ball at all three levels with a combination of touch and explosion. He knocked down a few threes, hit a few pull ups and he finished above the rim. He is one to put on the radar moving forward, very intriguing viewing.

6’7 2020 Isaiah Blue (Charlotte Panthers)

Blue has great size, with it he carries a good feel. Blue is very athletic, but he plays with a good pace about him. He has non stop movement on the offensive end, hunting spots within 15 feet of the rim and catching it with a quick release. He showed some ball skills and he showed the ability to get to his spots off the bounce.

6’3 2022 Davon Jones (Wilson Elite)

Jones is already a mature kid for an 8th grader. He is very strong and very bouncy. He sees the floor at a high level and is very unselfish. He also plays with a very high motor with the ability to defend all across the floor. There is a lot to like with this one and he should, at this point, be tracking as a Top 15 or so player in his class, in North Carolina.

6’4 2020 Jacari Outlaw (NC Heat)

Outlaw is a smooth player and he has a smooth feel to his game. He is able to score the ball at multiple levels with an efficient wing handle to go along with a smooth looking jump shot. As his body fills out, he already has the skill set and length, monitor closely.
