Phenom's Open Gym Tour
Freedom Christian (Fayetteville, NC)
By Jamie Shaw

Each year you can rest assured that Head Coach Dan Pruessner will have some Division 1 prospects coming through his program. He has done a great job utilizing a pipeline from Europe to go along with getting some good guards from around the area to attend. With that said, this is a new year, this team is loaded and deep.

Freedom Christian has played as an Independent School these last couple of years and they just joined the NCISAA this year and has been put in a conference that includes a 1A/2A mix of Trinity Christian, Village Christian, Northwood Temple and others. That is one of the tougher conferences in the state and could feasibly have two state champions come out of it.

Make sure you see Freedom Christian in this year's Phenom's Palmetto Winter Showcase on November 28-30 in Columbia, SC.

6'9' 2018 Milos Stajcic
Wow, what a first impression Stajcic made. Thursday was his first day playing with the team (just got in on Wednesday) and he was clearly the most dominate player on the floor. Stajcic has a great skill set that allows him to face up or go to the block. Stajcic rebounds well, strong with two hands. He has the ability to push the break with great control and either finish or set up team mates. He showed a go-to move over both shoulders on the block and a non stop motor. Stajcic is D1 qualified with transcripts in hand. This one will be fun to watch, no one knows about him yet, but he will have a steady stream of Division 1 coaches come through to watch him. This should be a great and newly popular recruiting battle.

5'11' 2020 Manrique Alvarado
Stajcic is far and away the best prospect on the team, Alvarado is the one that makes this team go. He is a pure point guard, actually he is the starting PG for the Costa Rican U17 national team. Yes, U17, he is playing up and still starting. Alvarado has all the tools, he has a tight handle and he really reads angles and understands footwork really well. He is a 3-level scorer with touch and toughness. Watch him closely, Alvarado is a natural leader that everyone on the floor looks toward. He will make this team go.

6'4' 2019 Jamahri Harvey
Harvey's best trait is his ability to use his length to make plays. He seemingly comes up with every 50/50 ball and seems to collect deflections on the defensive end. Harvey's offensive game is rapidly expanding as well. He is comfortable with the ball in his hands from the wing and has developed a very confident middle game. He carries offers from South Carolina State and Hampton, that list should continue to grow.

6'4' 2019 Brandon Murray
Murray is a scorer, that is what he is on the floor for and that is what he does. Murray has a very long and slender frame. His calling card is his jump shot, he has unconscious ability with a 'quick release and unlimited range. He is developing the ability to attack the rim and use is good athleticism to finish at the rim. Still developing, there will be games that Murray goes for 30+, as he continues to gain strength he will continue to become more consistent. A lot of upside here and one D1s should get in to see.

6'9' 2020 Amyeric Toussiant
This one is intriguing. He spent last year at Victory Christian in Charlotte, North Carolina and made the move over to Freedom Christian. Toussiant is a stretch player, with the touch going out well beyond the 3-point line. He has great length and is developing his strength and confidence. Put him firmly into your SIM Card, and watch progress.
