What an incredible year Tyler Maye had in 2015-16. He led his team to a 28-0 record, he won a state championship, he earned an invitation to the prestigious NC Top 80, he picked up his first 4 Division 1 offers, and he scored 637 points good for a 23.7 per game average.

Yes, Tyler Maye played like a grown man last season. Playing in December 3 Phenom's Millbrook Showcase he will be matched up against Davidson signee Carter Collins in what is one of the most anticipated individual matchups of the early season in North Carolina.

Both players averaged over 23 points and 5 assists per game last season. Both player are ranked in North Carolina's Top 15 senior hoops prospects. Collins is committed to Davidson in the Atlantic 10 and Maye is an unsigned senior who has had the likes of Providence, Coastal Carolina, Nebraska, Old Dominion and others in his gym this season.

As many of the state's best players do, Maye is an alum of the North Carolina Top 80. This prestigious event has the best players from the state and puts them up against one another. After his 2016 performance we wrote,''Coming off an impressive state championship performance the night before, 6'1 Tyler Maye had an amazing performance at the NC Top 80. More than anything, Tyler gave tremendous effort and impressed us with his all-around offensive game. He can score from all three levels, but his step back 3-pointer is high level. While he can score efficiently from the perimeter, Tyler has a quick first step and has the ability to get by defenders and finish at the rim. In addition, Tyler was excellent in his 'on the ball' defense and plays with a 'hawkish' attitude. The next step in his development is to be just a tad better with his 'off the ball' defense. Tyler has already gotten several D1 scholarship offers from his state championship performance, but we honestly believe he is just scratching the surface on his long-range potential.'

Maye is looking to defend his state championship as he will be the major focal point on Farmville Central. He currently has offers from Coastal Carolina, Charlotte, Kennesaw State and others. However, he will wait until late to commit, this recruitment has the potential to explode.
