Phenom High School Jamboree Team Preview
Northside Christian
Coach Erasto Hatchett

Head Coach Erasto Hatchell is now in his second season at Northside Christian and last season was a rebuilding one. Northside Christian finished 9-14 in the ultra tough NCISAA 2A classficiation. This season, Coach Hatchell has plenty of excitement and optimstism. He has an excellent mix of veterans and underclassmen that can compete in the Metrolina Conference and make some serious noise this 2017-18 season. Now, let's take a closer look at some of the key players for Coach Hatchell.

The Seniors

6'4 '18 Jonathan Hicklin

Jonathan Hicklin is a strong, tough'athletic guard. He already has a college ready frame and a 'college ready game'' to boot. While Jonathan has superb strength, he also has tremendous speed and quickness in the open court. We have often stated 'Jonathan's best days are in front of him.' His frame, size, strength, and skill set are all custom made for the collegiate game. Coach Hatchell stated,''Jonathan is the heartbeat of our program. While he is physically imposing he has the skill set and IQ to compliment his size. Jonathan is a lefty that shoots the ball well and can get to the basket and finish strong consistently. You will be hard pressed to find a kid that is an immediate program guy and game changer with his work ethic and game play.'

6'1 '18 Jon Jones

Every team needs a glue guy. One that plays with a high motor and full throttle approach and Jon Jones is exactly that player. He has all the physical attributes and intangibles for a point guard. Coach Hatchell stated, 'Jon is a very good 'on ball' defender and has the ability to apply pressure 94 feet. He is very explosive getting into the lane and is learing to make the right decisions when doing so. He is an extension of the coach. He motivates and provides energy.'

The Juniors

6'6 '19 Tyler Harris

We first saw Tyler Harris a year ago at the Phenom 150. One thing was for certain, Tyle Harris gave great effort and has excellent size for his position. It is also easy to see that Tyler has not even come close to reaching his full long-term potential. Coach Hatchell stated,'Tyler is certainly one you want to follow and keep a close pule on. He passes and shoots the ball really well and not to mention a tough on ball defender. Tyler turned some heads this past summer playing with Team Wall 16U and is ready to begin his high school career at Northside Christian after transferring in from Kentucky.'

6'6 '19 Cortez Marian-Holmes

We didn't have much information on Cortez since he just moved in from Nebreska. Coach Hatchell stated,''Cortez has exceptional upside. He's long, athletic, and is very versatile. He has an unbelievable work ethic. Cortez certainly has D1 skills, talent, and ability.'

6'8 '19 Sean 'Tony' Hauser

We watched Tony Hauser several times this past summer with the Charlotte Nets. One thing is for certain, you can't teach size. Tony has a solid skill set. He can utilize either hand around the rim and can finish with consistently. Tony has passer friendly hands and is a willing passer out of the post. Coach Hatchell stated, 'Tony is a true post player with the ability to stretch the floor with his outside touch. He can bang in the post and is very finesse around the rim. Tony's strength is that he knows his role and plays within himself. He is a good rebounder and big body and does what he's asked to do.'
