Caldwell Academy
Coach Michael McDuffie

Caldwell Academy finished with a 17-5 record last season and Coach Michael McDuffie has reason to be enthusiastic for the upcoming season. Playing in the NCISAA 2A classification, Caldwell Academy is ready to make the next jump for the 2017-18 season. Coach McDuffie will start the season off at the Phenom High School Jamboree on Saturday, November 4th at Proehlific Park in Greensboro, North Carolina. Below is list of impact players.

6'1 '18 Greyson Collins

Greyson continues to be one of the most underrated and under the radar players in his class. We're talking about one of the more fundamentally sound players in his class in North Carolina. The southpaw has the ability to play both guard positions and can be quite effective from each. Coach McDuffie stated, 'Greyson has a high basketball IQ and makes the right play on the floor. He can score from anywhere on the floor and is a deadly shooter from the 3-point line.' Last season, Greyson averaged 26.8 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 4.8 APG, and 2.5 SPG. He is currently getting D2 and D3 interest. That being said, Greyson Collins simply knows how to play and how to win. He is constantly making winning plays and his hustle, desire and determination is on full display each and every game. Make no mistake about it, Greyson Collins is a winner!

6'0 '21 KJ Garrett

KJ Garrett is definitely one to put in your SIM CARD. The talented freshman caught our attention at the Phenom Southern Jam Fest this past July. In our post event review, we stated the following. ' KJ Garrett has all the tools, a strong frame for his age/grade. He plays with poise and delivers pin point passes.' Coach McDuffie stated, 'KJ is a quick on quick point guard that plays well beyond his years and can get to any spot he wants to on the floor. He plays with excellent pace and is as good as passer as anyone. KJ is crafty with the dribble and around the rim as he is able to finish with contact. He is one to keep on you radar.'

6'6 Ty Cressman

Ty Cressman is a multi-talented power wing that can play both inside or on the perimeter. Coach McDuffie stated, 'Ty is a 6'6 forward that can pose matchup problems for big men on the floor. He has good size and is a very good shooter from the perimeter extending out to the 3-point line.' In addition, Ty has the ability to take smaller defenders in the paint and use his strength that will allow him to finish with efficiency.
